Finally finished The Stand (8months). Just started reading Relic. It's the story about a creature in a museum that's responsible for killing people. A movie about it came out in the late 90's. Haven't seen it.

I remember that movie, wasn't bad at all.

I am just starting the first Mass Effect novelization, based on my enjoyment of the now completed trilogy of games.  The writer of the forst three books was responsible for the first two games, so there should be some good crossover there.

I'm reading The Hunger Games too. I am so use to reading books the length of The Wheel of Time (a thousand pages or so), that I ate up the first Hunger Games novel in no time, immediately downloaded the second (Catching Fire) in the Kindle store, finished that and moved on to the final installment Mockingjay. I'm pacing myself on Mockingjay. :D

I really enjoy the books and this is the first series I have read on my iPad and...wow, it can be dangerous having books at my fingertips like this. FYI, I'm using the Kindle App to read the novels. The iBook store did not have them when I first picked them up, now they are selling them too.

My wife has been trying to get me to read the Wheel of Time series but it's so DAUNTING. I have read the first one and kinda liked it even though I thought it was derivative. She seems to have enjoyed the last couple so maybe I'll give them a try when the series is done.

I gave up about midway into book six in the Wheel of Time series.  It just kind of stopped going anywhere for me.

I have heard that the middle of that series things really get bogged down. A couple of people have told me it improves later on, but geez, that's alot of time.

Having read the first to stories awhile ago I finally read the last part of the Star Trek: Myriad Universes - Echoes And Refractions. All 3 parts were very good and worth a read if you get the chance.
"The Chimes At Midnight" by Geoff Trowbridge. Very good story with David Marcus in it quite a bit.
"A Gutted World" by Keith R.A. DeCandido. Even better with a big focus on Kira and Odo but includes many characters from DS9, TNG & Voyager.
"Brave New World" by Chris Roberson. Probably my favorite of the book but just barely better than "A Gutted World". Very cool idea with the TNG crew.
I give it a rating of a 8 out of 10.

Back into vintage Holmes stories at the minute but I dare say I'll pick up the next in the Lost Fleet series after that.

I know it's unnusual here but I don't have a podcast of my own.

Jen, I am all caught up on the Wheel of Time.  Anxiously awaiting the last one.  Although now that I know who killed Asmodean...some of the joy is gone.

I both love and hate this series.  I like to think it is Lord of the Rings meets Dune meets Wizard of Earthsea.  But I still read'em all.

Today I just finished 'Emma Frost - Ultimate Collection.' Written by Karl Bollers. I found this graphic novel to be very good. It includes issues 1-18. I got throught this very quickly and wanted to keep reading it when I got the chance. I woke up early today (thanks to the dog) and wanted to read it some more to fall back asleep. That didn't work.
Check this out if you get the chance. I give this a 9. Check this out if your a X-Men fan but do remember this takes place before Emma was the White Queen.

I read 2 more graphic novels and neither one was very long.
Uncanny X-Men/Steve Rogers - Escape From the Negative Zone - 7. Weird art style on part 1 of this 3 part story. They are 3 Annuals from Uncanny X-Men, Steve Rogers: Super Soldier, and Namor. The Steve Rogers had the art style I like the best. The X-Men was a very weird style and the Namor wasn't much better. Good story but when irate a graphic novel I take into consideration the whole thing.
Batman - Noel - 10. Very well done and a quick read. This is one worth checking out. I got goose bumbs at the end of this one!

Reading the final Fate of the Jedi book Apocalypse.

How are you enjoying it Bryan? I kind of got burned out on the series but Apocalypse is the last one I have left to read.
