i was reading star trek vendetta by peter david a while ago. i most certainly recommend it.
peter david is a great author, so be sure to check out his other books too, like Q squared

Peter David's stuff is fantastic.  It's a shame that he pretty much only writes the New Frontier books now.  But I guess in that series, they let him do whatever he wants, unlike with characters originating on TV series.

I actually need to go back and read this book. I read it when it first came out in 1991. I was 10 years old, at the time I was terrified of the Borg. I remember reading it every night before bed and freaking myself right out. I think I got though about 3/4 of it and had to stop.

I am re-reading Jack Williamsons 'The Humanoids'.

Jedijeff, I really liked the second part of Death Star. I liked the idea of a different view of part of A New Hope.
And I agree with you all on Peter David he is an awesome writer and Vendetta and Imzadi are two of my favorite Star Trek Books.
I believe "Knight Errant" is also a comic book series.
I finished "Fantastic Four Disassembled". Very good 2nd part to the grahic novel but it was a cliffhanger! Darn it.
Picked up more comics for 50 cents. I wonder how long the wife will let me continue to do this.

I just started Tolkien's "The Silmarillion" I'm listening to it on my commute.. not sure I would be able to read it as there are so many names and strange places to remember. It's a great history book to Tolkien's Middle Earth.

I have never read any of Tolkien's books. I did really enjoy the 3 LOTR movies but I don't think I could get through the books. I'm more sci-fi than fantasy.
Started and finished Captain America & the Falcon "Brothers and Keepers." Had the Anti-Cap in these stories. I haven't decided yet on what I'm reading next.

Read The Amazing Spiderman Vol.1 Coming Home graphic novel. I really liked it and look foward to other volumes. Morlun was the bad guy in the novel and he is one I didn't know. J. Michael Straczynski is the writer of this one. Does anyong know how long he stayed with the Spiderman comic?
Next up is probaby going to be one of my Star Trek mags. #23 about The Motion Picture.
Went back to The Bargain Box and got more 50 cent comics. I love that place. Came home with more Justice League America, 2 Star Wars, some Dazzler, Star Trek Early Voyages #1, which completes that series, and the Captain America: Reborn series, which saves me $20 since I won't have to buy the graphic novel!

Bilbo

Please bear with me I read many books, here are some items rattling around in my skull right now-

Comics

I like Spiderman but the new Uncanny X-force series is absolutely awesome.  I was really disappointed by last years X-men forever it's nice to have an x-book that is well written.

Another great read, the first book I read every month, is the Walking Dead, the blue ray comes out tomorrow and some of the actors will be at C2E2 this year, a great book, a great adaptation.

Books
If you like alternate history, which I love, you have to read 1942 by Robert Conroy.  The story is simple, it continues the story of Pearl Harbor if the Japanese had decided to stay instead of just hit and run.  Conroy's writing style is similar to Turtledove but somehow more engaging, the story is solid and you genuinely care about the characters in the story.  The voice of the story really pulls you in and the simplicity of the story makes it more believeable, a really great read.

This week I am rereading S.M. Stirlings' Dies The Fire and I'm finishing up Zombie Apocalypse! by Stephen Jones.

I bought a box full of vintage Star Trek paperbacks a couple of weeks ago and will be reading those next, stay tuned, true believers  :spidey

Love that book!  Such great background material for understanding LOTR.  I even read all the other ~11 or so 'History of Middle Earth' volumes that JRRT's son released.

Just read the Mirror Mirror comic from Paramount/Marvel. You could probably guess where I found it.
Also, Bilbo, that 1942 book sounds like it would be good.

i'm now reading The Return by (no joke) william shantner (IKR?!) the first 4 chapters are confusing if you haven't seen Generations, but other than that it's pretty good so far.

That's a good series, but they aren't really by William Shatner.  It's kind of like reading a Tom Clancy or VC Andrews book, although Shatner isn't dead.

I finally decided to get off my but and start reading Stephen King's Dark Tower series. According to my new Kindle I'm 35% of the way through The Gunsligner. It's an odd book and I'm not quite sure what exactly is going on yet. It's definitely strange and a bit creepy.

That is a great series but I never made it all the way through, they get really confusing in the later books.
