The key is finding a good one with people that aren't legalistic and stuffy.  It isn't easy to find a place with relatable people in it.

Not sure if I posted here yet or not, and im too stuffed and lazy to look.

I work for a company that makes the signs you see on top of Pizza Delivery cars. Although anyone can buy them, and use for any reason, our biggest customers are the Pizza giants and food delivery folks.

I also have my Class A CDL so I may run away from home some day and drive a truck...if my wife will let me  :-)

Well this is an old thread and as of late i'm resurrecting them. I work for a manufacturing company in Solihull, West Midlands in England. We make hard and soft faced hammers. We supply hammers and safety tools (non sparking tools) to the many big companies in the UK, Europe, Australia and the good old US. I'm in charge of all metal cutting (generally because no one else can do it or want to ha ha) I also of late have started working in the sales department, though if i'm honest i like doing that simply because I'm not on the machines getting covered in coolant and straining my brain with calculations. I drive to work which takes about half an hour, so i get to have a bit of the old ipod on the go. My wife to be (we get married in June) is a sister in the local A&E (ER in the US) hospital.

Way to resurrect an old one!

Hello everyone.  I'm a graphic designer for the University of Nebraska Medical Center and an aspiring comic book artist.

I've snuck my way into the graphics field about 11 years ago and (minus a year I took off to work on this cool construction/sculpture job I had) have been doing is ever since.  I was a supervisor for a small graphics department at the last place I was working...but about a year and a half ago I decided to take this job here at the University.  The benefits RULE and now I'm just a worker bee...so when everything goes to hell...it's not my falt anymore! YAY!!!

Also, I've always wanted to be involved in comics...but it was just last year that I really started to get serious about my art work.  Look for me on comic book store shelves soon!  (HA!  I wish!)

I have two jobs. I work with handicapped adults that is what pays the bills. I really enjoy taking care of my residents. The job I enjoy the most is being a  preacher. I am a licensed minister in my church. I have being preaching for about 6 years now. I am hoping to one day have my own church.

What's a sister?

Meds

A Sister is a head nurse, eg she is in charge of her shift at the hospital. Each sister answers to a Matron who is in charge of the whole department.

Rico

Very interesting stuff gang.  Glad this thread is still in play.

OH. I wondered the same thing. When you say a "sister", to me it either means in the literal sense or in the nunnery sense. :D

Interesting jobs everyone.

My question is if it were a male sister would it be a brother?

Oh Rick and Jen you kill me at times. Ha ha. I think a male version is called a charge nurse, though apologies if i have got that wrong.

I am a Custodian at a Technical College in Washington State.  I've been there for 20 years.  In between times, I was a firefighter.  This fall I will be going back to school for Computer Science.  About five years ago, I came out of the closet and declared myself a geek to the world.

I work for a little company that makes space shuttles, satellites and other stuff.

Hey Darrell!  That sounds very cool!  I'd be tempted to paint the word "ENTERPRISE" on the next one built!  ;)

As you probably know, there will be no more shuttles made, and the last flight will be in 2010.  They're working on a replacement now, although not nearly as cool if you ask me.
