According to this, we'll be getting a new Star Wars film every summer starting in 2015.

QuoteBeginning with the much-discussed premiere of director J.J. Abrams' Star Wars: Episode VII in 2015, Disney will deliver a Star Wars film every summer, alternating between the new trilogy and the spinoffs, ComingSoon reports.

This is, of course, amidst another round of layoffs of Lucasfilm staff.

I know...I was actually laughing more that I knew every reference, and even corrected him...the Quinjet was the AVENGERS' plane not the X-Men. They use the Balckbird.. ;p I can see my 14 year old self coming up with that movie.

Here's some official and good news released a couple days ago.

Walt Disney Pictures and Lucasfilm announced today at CinemaCon in Las Vegas that Star Wars: Episode VII will hit theaters in the summer of 2015 and that every summer after that will offer a "Star Wars" film, alternating with one of the standalone films.

We knew they were targeting "Episode VII" for 2015, but a summer date had not yet been confirmed. Also, while it was known they were working on standalone films, the fact that we'll be getting a "Star Wars" movie every summer is a new development. We don't know how many standalone films they are planning on making at this time in addition to the new trilogy.

J.J. Abrams will direct Star Wars: Episode VII from a script by Michael Arndt.

JJ and KK are on a collision course over secrecy! I think she has a much more reasonable, pragmatic, and smart approach to how to let fans know about the film as it develops without spoiling it. I think once Into Darkness comes out, JJ's approach will have proven to be a mistake.

Hey, I found this and thought somebody might be interested in it. Amazon's deal of the week has the 2 Star Wars Trilogies for $32.99. I think you lose some of the special features from the 6 movie box set but it would be cheaper to get these. Here is a link.
