Wow!!!  Looks really good.  My only quibble is I'm not sure I like how there's so much in that trailer of Spidey doing his thing with his mask off.  I know it must be a real challenge for actors, screenwriters, and directors to convey necessary emotion and gravitas through a latex mask, but it's part of the problem of the characters translation to film and I don't think simply taking off the mask is the right answer.  We will see, though, I am really excited!!!

this is the power of a good trailer. I had no interest in seeing this until the trailer. I think it does a fantastic job of bringing back what was missing from the last franchise. Peter Parker as a science geek. I think that this will be my favorite take on him since the Electric Company.

It does look like fun, I'm just not clear how this is really any different from all the other films. Seems like more of the same.

Trailer looks just about perfect.  The look and feel seem good and I like the actor's they picked.  As far as differences to the Toby movies they are definitely bringing out Peter's more science/geek side - which is great.  I missed that in the other films.  There are other little touches too that seem like a good direction.  I'm fine with the mask off stuff.  That happens to Spidey sometimes and keep in mind he is just starting out here.  Can't wait to see a new rendition of my favorite comic book hero!

I still think it's too soon for a reboot.. but I have to say the trailer looks awesome and I'll be seeing it on opening weekend.

That's the bit that has me scratching my head. I am admittedly a very marginal fan of the franchise, but this seems the same to me as the first film.

Not really, it seems to be dealing more with the elements of the secret life of Peter's parents. They are also using Gwen, who is really supposed to be Peter's true love. When his wishes were granted on two separate occasions, he was married to Gwen and I think this will show us that connection.

Yeah, see to me, I see a dude who looks like Toby Maguire, a chick who looks like Kirstin Dunst (actually I just saw that actress in The Help and she was great), some scientific labs, Spiderman swininging through the canyons of New York, shooting some webs....same movie. All the other things you said are lost on me. Like I said, I am the uber casual fan for this but there are likely a lot of us out there this film needs to sell to.

If spidey taking out 30+ cops doesn't sell the movie, nothing will. There is a obvious level of action in this film that was not in the other.

True, the 2002 film was a bit slow.

I have not read a lot of the Spiderman comics, and more familiar with him from the movies and the 60's cartoon. The trailer looks like it is going to have a lot of action, but Peter Parker to me, comes off a bit more cocky then the other versions I am familiar with. Is that the way he is in the Comics? I recall the TV series he was a pretty reserved guy.

Peter parker has always been a bit cocky once he gets his powers. It's part of the reason Uncle Ben died. All in all, he's not some reserved geek that would be better suited in a library. He's a guy that talks a lot of smack as much as possible and then backs it up.

And THAT is what I love about comic Spider-Man that was missing from the last 3 movies. Too much focus on sad Peter and the MJ crap. In the comics, other heroes are usually pretty annoyed by Spidey's sense of humor and personality.

Yep - Peter as Spidey is ALL about the talk while fighting the bad guys.  And that even slips out when he isn't Spidey at times too.  I'm VERY excited to see this movie now after this trailer.

I'm....just not feeling it.  Something felt off in the trailer and I feel like its not going to be good, but I just can't put my finger on it...
