I'm....just not feeling it.  Something felt off in the trailer and I feel like its not going to be good, but I just can't put my finger on it...

But you're usually wrong, so that means this is going to rock.

I have not read a lot of the Spiderman comics, and more familiar with him from the movies and the 60's cartoon. The trailer looks like it is going to have a lot of action, but Peter Parker to me, comes off a bit more cocky then the other versions I am familiar with. Is that the way he is in the Comics? I recall the TV series he was a pretty reserved guy.
Peter parker has always been a bit cocky once he gets his powers. It's part of the reason Uncle Ben died. All in all, he's not some reserved geek that would be better suited in a library. He's a guy that talks a lot of smack as much as possible and then backs it up.
And THAT is what I love about comic Spider-Man that was missing from the last 3 movies. Too much focus on sad Peter and the MJ crap. In the comics, other heroes are usually pretty annoyed by Spidey's sense of humor and personality.

Yep - Peter as Spidey is ALL about the talk while fighting the bad guys.  And that even slips out when he isn't Spidey at times too.  I'm VERY excited to see this movie now after this trailer.

Thanks Rico, X and Chris-El for clarifying. I have some Spidey Trade Paperbacks I have never taken the time to read, so will make sure to read these before the movie comes out. Sounds like he is a more fun guy in the Comics.

WAY more fun in the comics. Not saying i didn't enjoy Tobey, I've just always been a big fan of Spidey the wise-ass.

Yep, I just read the most recent issue of the Amazing Spider-Man comic last night and Spidey was his usual wise-ass self.

I think this looks awesome after seeing the new trailer!!! I wanted to see it anyway but the trailer really got me pumped!! I like that its a little different with Gwen and others. And I thought the web slinging scenes were awesome.
I have been reading some of the Spiderman graphic novels from the library and so far I have enjoyed them all. Next up is "Unintended Consequences" by J. Michael Straczynski. I just picked it up today!
