So, finally got level 83.  Yes, I level like snails move.  Just haven't had a lot of play time in the last several weeks.  Anyway, been tossing around the idea of doing the Netherwing faction thing to get that cool mount.  Has anyone done this in WOW yet?  Joby??  Joe???  It looks to be just a faction grinding thing.  Can you solo the whole thing?  Probably take me forever, but I love those big, dragon like mounts.

I did it, it took a long while and your going to be running around a lot of roaming elites in the area so expect to die sometimes...but you should be fine.  (Unless Blizz nerfed them).  I did it during Burning Crusade, its fun, the mount is my favorite in the game and it is a tad grindy, but there is plenty of variety of quests to grind the faction so you should be ok.  Also, the end quest is fun too :)

So get it!

Thanks for the info.  The elites shouldn't be too much of a problem.  Bit higher in level now.  Maybe I'll give it a go.  :)

True point, the elites should be fairly easy to avoid at your level 83 considering I had to fight/avoid them at 70.  ;)

I have an Onyx Netherwing Drake on my Mage.  It took an awful long time but I did it at level 70.  At 83 the bulk of the quests should be cake to solo, for the most part the majority of them were easily soloable at 70.  There's two parts I remember needing groups for, at the very beginning of the quest chain to open up the island, and at the very end, but I would guess that these would be soloable at your current level or at least duoable.  The Netherwing quests as a whole were very fun, and chock full of funny and interesting bits of lore.  By the end though I was very glad to be done, and you really felt like you earned that reward.  I was super glad to never have to set foot in those caves ever again, I know that Tim knows what I'm talking about.

Along the same lines, I heard that as part of the next patch they are mainstreaming (making easier) the Spectral Tiger daily grind in Winterspring for all you Alliance wussies.  That might be another one you'd consider doing after the patch hits.

The only issue with doing dailies is that they take long enough for people that play every day.  For someone that logs once or twice a week you might be doing these for a year or more.

One reason I was thinking of trying to make a go of this is it might make me log on more often.  Right now, just questing to level up a bit more isn't really pushing me to hop online.  But if I had a goal like this, maybe I could pop in most days for an hour or so and work on it.  I started a little of it yesterday - just the first few quests.  I'll let you know if I stick with it.

Ugh, those caves...those caves....I'm glad never to see that mess of mobs either...

Having fun with this quest so far.  I'm up to Friendly reputation now, but a long way to go.  Rescued this dragon's mate and she gave me a ride.  Whee!!!!

Were you able to solo the quests?  Is this for a mage or lock?

Yes - soloing is easy at level 83.  The mount can be used by any class.

Rico

Well, up to Honored rep now with Netherwing.

Yeah - it's pretty easy at the level I'm at.  Just plow through stuff.  A bit of grinding, but I've been trying to get on when I can to do the daily stuff.  The revered will take longer than the last chunk did, but I'll get there.  It's kind of fun!

You hit the caves yet?  Those ravagers were MEAN at level 70.  Since you've got me thinking about them I'm of half a mind to go there just to mow some down for the hell of it now.

Oh and don't forget when you get to the part where you can turn in Eggs for extra rep, it can make things go alot faster.  Plus you might be able to find them easier nowadays when there isn't quite so much competition for them.  You should easily be able to find maps with their specific spawn points and just make a few runs to collect them.

We were doing similar stuff with the old content. Taking our Cata raiding groups out for mounts in the old content is funny.....

Still fun to do even though its very easy.
Ripley: Ash. Any suggestions from you or Mother?
Ash: No, we're still collating.
Ripley: [Laughing in disbelief] You're what? You're still collating? I find that hard to believe.
