Here's a much clearer version of the trailer.  This looks like a lot of fun!

Heh, I read and watched this and thought:

"Blizzard likes to lie alot..."

Not to be overly harsh, but they said they would never allow flying mounts in azeroth, never bring back those bosses, never do some of those race combos, etc etc etc.  Yet, looks like they will.  I do have to say, I heavily disagree with the Goblins and Worgens being put on any side, whether it be Horde or Alliance.  WoW Lore has pretty much forbidden this in the past, but I guess in the end, the Dev's make their own lore.  I think it is wrong that the Goblins were put on the horde side considering that they also deal with the Alliance a lot too...

Otherwise, it looks interesting.  I have to say I didn't expect them to even go back to the old universe and change it so much.  It would intrigue me to go back to WoW, except the same gameplay will still happen so I'd just read the lore and then quit my subscription. Why waste the $$?

You know what they say Tim, "Never say never,..."  I myself am very excited by this new expansion.  Great idea for it I think.

The goblins aren't  a unified race. They are stuctured under 5 separate 'trade princes'. From what I can tell by this, one of those groups allied with the horde. Frankly I'm excited.

Tauren rogue anyone?

Some pictures from Blizzcon...oh dear.

The news about this expansion has got me DROOLING to play this game again.  I love the thought that they are revamping the old world zones, and allowing flying all over the old continents is just an awesome thing.  They are geniuses at making people want to come back and keep playing this game over and over again.  Now all I need is a computer that is actually capable of running WoW at an acceptable degree and I am set! anyone have $2500 I can borrow?

Joby - you don't need anywhere near that type of money for a computer to play WOW.  I built my son one a couple months back for about $400 and it plays it great.  And even if you say double that and notch things up a bit, you are still under a grand.

- Oh, this expansion is over a year away.  So no rush.

Yeah I'm not much of a techie, hence my love of console gaming.  I bought a $600 laptop a year ago and was very disappointed at the performance I got from it playing WoW, after the guy in the store promised me it would play the game well.

I certainly don't need much.  I'd like to play the game running at a reliable framerate of 30-40 fps at least, especially during 25 man raids, with the effects sliders around medium and I would be happy.  you think $800 bucks can get me there?

Basically if you can get yourself a Core 2 Duo of pretty much any speed, a mid-range (read 200 dollar) video card and 2 - 4 gigs of RAM, you should be fine.

Remember WoW is almost 5 years old now.

On my almost 5 year old machine the only place my framerate dies is in Dalaran where I get 10-15 fps. Everywhere else I'm between 25-60 fps.

Joby,

Laptops are a different animal.  They have to make a lot of compromises due to space, heat, and so on.  Very, very different hardware and the cost / performance on a laptop vs. a PC is huge.

I also just built a kick-butt system for my friend Mark for about $900.  This machine has top-notch hardware.  One of the only good things these days is how inexpensive and good computer hardware has gotten.  It's really incredible.  If you ever get serious about this, I'd be happy to point you in the right direction as far as what to buy and use.
