You have to think about the benefit of digital. If you buy it digital, you can always download it and you don't have to worry about scratched discs, waiting in line for the game, or losing said disc.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but my understanding is that, for WoW, as long as your account has a record of your having purchased the game at some point in the past you always have the ability to download a digital copy if you have lost or damaged your physical media.  I am hoping that's the case, anyway, because my original and BC discs are long gone and if I have to purchase them all again to play Cataclysm it ain't happening.

Yup, you can download the client up to the latest expansion you've purchased already patched to a playable state.

Yep, that's a cool thing too.  I just like getting something physical for the same money I'd be spending on the digital version.  I'm kind of old fashioned on that I guess.  It's why I still have LP's, CD's, VHS tapes, DVD's, computer discs, etc.  And yes, I can still play and use all those formats too.  :)

Yeah I'm starting to get to the point where I want to get rid of all my DVD's aside form the ones that are special to me (Trek, Star Wars, Indy, Firefly etc). You know we all have those DVD's we bought from the bargain bin that we've watched once.

The zones are still pretty much the same - for now.  A few minor things to give you a sense of what's coming in December.

Ahh I see.  Despite my issues with WoW, I crave to return to a fantasy game of any kind at this point....but WoW is the only decent one I've found so far.

Even with Paladin changes I have a feeling I'd get burned out quickly.  Eve Online has been trying to get me back to play.  Meh.  I'd come back if I could a group of people to do it with, but that's the only way.

Holy cow.  I logged into my account today for the first time in over a year, maybe two years, can't even remember the last time I played...to find my account had been hacked and sold!  I had to deal with Blizzard to have the account re-associated with my email, which surprisingly was done in about five minutes.  Once done and I was able to log in, I found someone had been playing my character.  He was in an area of Northrend I'd never been and don't remember, all my gear was gone and replaced with PvP gear, my specs and talents were totally different (frost instead of arcane) and my professions had changed to mining and my bags were full of ores.  Very very strange.  It seems like either my account had been sold and someone was playing it, or just was being used by gold sellers to mine ores and aid in their gold selling operation.  I dunno.  It's been so long since I've played I don't really remember very much about the way I left things, but I'm sure I wasn't a miner and I know I had more than four gold :(.  At least all my mounts and soulbound stuff is still there.  I'm very upset.  I think I might start a new character from scratch since I really need to relearn the game, so if anyone wants to pal around Azeroth for a while let me know!

Gee - that's too bad.  Let us know if you make a character on Earthen Ring.  Joe, Mark, and I play there.  Mark and I are Alliance and Joe is on the evil Horde side!  ;)
