I just wanted to say that I've pretty much finished my planned introduction of Galdar. Just about everything I've done so far was leading up to the station shuttle bay scene so from now on I'm happy to play it by ear.

I had considered a whole shuttle persuit sequence but have ditched the idea for the moment as I didn't know where to take it. (Aeric's scuppered that idea anyway!)

I'm not saying I'm about to stop, just that I'm not sure where the story will take me next.

On the other side, I'm enjoying the other three ongong major threads. Lots of good co-operative writing which does make the story very readable. I see this is a skill I'll need to learn.

I know it's unnusual here but I don't have a podcast of my own.

Well done Feathers!  I think that, not knowing what comes next, is what's fun about writing in the RPG... We usually have an outline but that is only used to point everyone in the same general direction. How we drive to that destination may take us off roading or on a high speed chase. :) FYI, we're working on an outline for the next season now. Hold on to your hats!  :eekout

I have a general idea of what will happen with my characters, but when I work with other writers more possibilities are tossed into the mix and fresh ideas abound. The great idea I thought I had, gets a new twist or a high shine due to the great dialog/details created when I work with someone else. Teaming up with these writers is something that has become more of a second nature because we know each others' strengths and style and have meshed together like a writing team for a TV show. At least that's the way I look at it. :)

And...I think you have done an excellent job in your collaborations, and you already have a skill. :)

I really have a blast writing for Darius, and the collaborative atmosphere of this game is SO enjoyable.  I just had this intense mental image of Shane and Galdar walking along in utter silence for most of the trip, kind of like those scenes with two people in an elevator, where neither talks, but you know SOMETHING is coming if one of them will ever open their mouth. Feathers, dude...  :cheers

I should really be less shy about joint posting. ^^;;

A pleasure.

When I was writing for this scene, I had the image of a tall human striding along in silence (which seems to fit Shane from what I remember of his character) with this little orange man almost scampering along beside him trying to keep up and desperately trying to rhink of a way to get him to say something. It's a funny image.

The one thing I wasn't sure of was whether Darius would give in and speak or not. :)

I have this insane urge to apologize to everyone for completely hijacking the story with the shuttle bay scenes. It seems to have had ramifications far beyond those that I'd planned.

It started off as a Galdar only story but then I wrote Joseph D'Callan into it for a bit of colour. It was simply intended as an unorthodox way for Galdar to come aboard. He'd have been with the security chief and thus it would have all been OK. Only...then I changed my plans and delayed posting it all for a bit by which time Joseph was in sickbay so Meds substituted Theran...and we are where we are.

I certainly didn't intend to get Joseph arrested, Aeric in a flap or Section 31 on the ship. Nor did I plan on cutting across everyone's character development.

I'm loving reading the results of it all though :D

Whatever Feathers. This storyline is a ton of fun!

Feathers that is what is great about not having a strict outline.. we let our writers run free and they come up with this wonderful story. And what is great about this team of writers is their ability to shift and follow a story which ever way it goes.

So thank you for being a major player in this season and shifting the story in a direction I never expected.

Hey, this is fun and not your fault. Openings were created to change the direction of the story and the writers took advantage of it. That's the magic of this RPG thing from season to season. Outlines are fun, but when something comes up that might provide something fun, you can shift course without much worry.

billybob476

Well, the FUN might be his fault. But I don't consider this a bad thing. :)

...Wow....

Cap'n Quinn don't mess around.

Should I avoid the rush and just have Darius report to the brig now? Being arrested seems to be the in thing at the moment. ^_~

Go for it Dev. Your character is working in security...we don't have many people playing that role right now since D'Callan is also under arrest. :)

I think duty in the brig could be interesting at this point. Try for that rather than occupying a cell!

Galdar's a bit worried that he'll be in the brig soon. Should have kept the safe starbase job :(

I know it's unnusual here but I don't have a podcast of my own.

billybob476

Also could be interesting considering his boss is one of the people sitting in a cell.

X

Aeric doesn't mind sitting in a cell. It's the honor system for him. He's there because he didn't tell the ship to turn off the forcefield. It's easier to sit in jail when you've already planned an escape if necessary.

Geekyfanboy

Quinn's rampage is alot of fun.. he's normally so level headed and kind.. but he can be tough when he's pushed.. this is only the beginning. :)
