Hey Guys, just a quick rec. Anyone who is into gaming and has been for awhile might enjoy this podcast I found. Its called Retronauts and I found it through itunes. Its great for reminicsing and brings back many happy memories of gaming with my pals. If yu enjoyed the SNES, Saturn or first Playstation, I'm sure you will enjoy this. Does anyone have any more podcasts to recommend?
You could learn something from Mr Spock Doctor..... Stop thinking with your glands"

Hi Trekkygeek! Try Gaming Steveâ€"He's top notch. Unfortunately he's been on hiatus since October. I'm not sure if he's coming back or not. He works in the gaming industry, so I'm sure he just got busy with real world stuff. But there are quite a few archived episodes you can still download through iTunes. He does a retro review as well as reviews on newer games. They are VERY informative. I've tried several games that he recommended and have enjoyed them all.

The P.C. Gamer Podcast is also very good.  'Star Wars Galaxies with Yivvits and Mr. Bubble' is also entertaining, but its a Star Wars Galaxies podcast. I don't play the game but still find them hilarious.

Hope that helps...thanks for the recommendation. I'll have to check Retronauts out.  :)

Well... I know this husband wife pair that does a pretty good podcast on being a gaming couple and a couple who plays WoW together.  The podcast actually would be linked over there on the left as "my website".  ::)

As for others, can anyone recommend a podcast in the stylings of John Stewart or other political humor/ satire?

Mr. O

My regular podcast playlist:

Extralife Radio  (silly fun)
The Instance  (WOW)
Jawbone Radio (fun husband/wife show)
TWIT (computer related tech, etc.)
Comicology  (comics)
PC Gamer
BSG Commentary (Ron Moore's take on BSG episodes)
Slice of Sci-Fi

There are others I listen to off/on - but the ones above are my weekly regular list.  I'll have to check your WOW show out soon too Mr. O.

Hey, speaking of ExtraLife, what happened to that one guy, the one in FL? He bailed. I figure he had his own podcast he wanted to concentrate on, but besides a quick mention at the start of last weeks show, the ELR guys barley mentioned it.

Rico

The short version is Scott and Andrew (FL guy) had a little bit of a falling out.  They worked things out now and Andrew might be back sometime.  He is back on the Warcraft show they do called The Instance.  I don't think Scott wanted to give it a lot of talk on the show.  Especially since it's all kind of settled now.

Galactica Watercooler is a fun podcast.  It's three BSG fans discussing the previous episodes.  There are no spoilers for upcoming episodes.

One more game podcast: The Video Games Show
Here are some none gaming podcasts:
Home Town Tales
Griddlecakes Radio
Requiem of the Outcast
The Force-Cast
Galactica Actual

I listen to this one too.  I like it, it's pretty free form and random but it works ok for me.

Seems like they like to shoot down what the girl says quite a bit, though.

I'm dl this now, I'll check it out tomorrow.  I play with my wife and daughter, although we are on a bit of a downswing at the moment.  We are burned out a bit.

One podcast I like that I don't see listed above is ESPN:  PTI.  If you like sports you may enjoy this.  It's a couple of guys talking about the current sports scene.

Some may have a hard time with Tony Kornheiser or maybe even the other guy, as they are perhaps a bit obnoxious.  But that's part of the fun.

I added Galactica Watercooler to my list.  It's pretty cool, and a nice chat on the topic.  Will have to give Galactica Actual a listen at some points and I do need to check out The Instance to see how that goes.  RIght now I've got The Weekly Murloc on my list and they said something about "that other weekly WoW podcast" so I'm now even more curious about it.

Hey O

I listened to your podcast today.  It was good!  Your wife is really good on it.  She is a natural.

I got my wife to play WoW by starting her on Toontown, if you can believe that.  We have two small children and I had two accounts so I could play with my daughter, and it came from that.

Anyway I hope you have lots of success with your podcast, I think you have a bit of a niche there.

I'm surprised you haven't listened to The Instance before.  It's one of the very first ones.  It's in a bit of a transition state, as Randy has joined and Andrew hasn't quite been himself in a while.

There are a few more WoW podcasts out there, I used to keep up with all of them but now I just listen to Taverncast, The Instance, and sometimes Murloc.

I like the Murloc because it is nice and clean, I can let my daughter listen to it.

I hadn't noticed that.  I think she's a little goofier at times, but I never thought her comments were treated any differently than the guys'.  (Now I'll be listening for that.)

Is this different than their TV show.  I watch that every day.  I love PTI.

Oh man I'm really quite sad to hear that. I thought he was the best thing about the podcast. Everyone says that O was th main draw, but I preferred Andrews humour. I really hope that he returns soon. I am only upto show 111 but Extralfe along with Treks in Sci Fi are my favourites.

No, it's the exact same show, they put it up a few hours after the broadcast the same day.

Yeah, I'll miss Andrew there as well.  I'm glad he's back on The Instance (and back with his gf, that's very good news) and wish he was on ELR.
