Cool Joe.  Is the mount just given to you for use in the zone or certain quests?  How did the crowding seem last night?

It's a quest reward, it's a full on official mount that gets permanently added to your collection but it's aquatic only, like the druid aqautic form. I think it can be used in any water. The crowding was better last night, No queue around 6pm and then about 500 at 9pm. I think this weekend might be bad and then it should die down.

When you say there was queue you mean to log on at all or just the zone?

To log in, Earthen Ring is a high population server.

I logged in about 6pm central time last night to Earthen Ring and got right in.  I'll probably play early on Saturday to hopefully avoid the wait times.  It did seem a bit easier to get in last night.  I actually want the first wave of level 80 players to sort of move ahead a bit and I'll just follow their wake in the new zones.  :)

Well with my small amount on questing in Vash'jir last night I already replaced two item 232 items (head and neck) with quest greens. You won't be in 'crappy' gear for very long Rico. A coworker of mine was in full ICC gear and he's already replaced at least 4 pieces.

Yeah, I'm happy about that.  The new robe is MUCH better than my old one.  And all I had to do was kill 8 rock creatures (die once) for it!  Looking forward to not looking so wimpy soon.  ;)

The only thing I don't like is that my old helm looked *really* cool :) The new one isn't quite as menacing. Oh well!

I'm not crazy about losing the set bonuses from all my tiered gear either but oh well. The extra int stam and spellpower makes up for it I guess

I took off the morning from work today to play (shh don't tell my wife or my boss) and found the most awesome quest in the new Hyjal section...some spoilers ahead.

Basically you take a portal inside to a system of caves, and meet up with the quest giver who lends you a flying mount that operates using the new vehicle system they introduced last expansion.  You have to hit a button to flap your wings and it is very bouncy.  The quest giver explains how to fly and tells you to take a lance off the weapons rack behind him, then instructs you to fly off and kill ten birds flying around the cave behind him.  The last thing he says is something to the effect of "Good luck, Buzzard Bait" and I realized that the whole quest is a three dimensional homage to the old video game Joust!  You fly around and kill waves of birds with your lance, there's two waves and the third is an egg wave!  At the end you get an achievement called "Beware the unbeatable Pterodactyl" and you win either a gold or blue non combat pet that looks like 3d representations of the little player characters from the video game Joust.  So freaking cool I almost peed myself!
