Hi Kevin!  I miss hearing you and the rest of the gang on the Scapecast.  In fact, I miss the Scapecast.  In any event, I wouldn't be shy about catching a few of the classic episodes before watching the new stuff.  I would for sure watch a Tom Baker story, Genesis of the Daleks before watching the last two episodes of the 2008 series, "The Stolen Earth" and  "Journey's End."  While a new viewer will fully understand what's happening, I think it adds a little something extra when you have some history with some of the Davros stories from yesteryear.

Yeah, I mean we have several links to classic episodes. I'm a old school who fan and adore classic who. :)

I watched Genesis of the Daleks yesterday, wow, I loved it. This is the first classic group of shows that I have watched. The story was great, and the fact that it's 35 years old didn't factor. I'll be Netflixing these for a while.

I think you'll be busy for bit with all of these. Enjoy reliving my childhood (and the more recent stuff!).

I know it's unnusual here but I don't have a podcast of my own.

Try the The Aztecs, War Games, and The Three Doctors now.

A real classic story, glad you enjoyed it.  If you are looking for a fan favourite of the classic series please, please, please consider Pyramids of Mars, it scared the s**t out of me when I was a child!!

I am in the midst of that one now, just had to stop for football!

I'm glad you are enjoying it.  I'm watching Patrick Troughton in The Mind Robbers right now.

Pyramids of Mars is excellent.  For a great 2nd Doctor story, try Tomb of the Cybermen.

I watched the Tomb of the Cybermen a couple of weeks ago.  The Cybermen have evolved over the years.

Keep an eye open for Jon Pertwee's Day of the Daleks, which has just been released over here.  There are two versions of the story, the original, and the other with CGI effects, which looks OK!!

As you all know i'm a HUGE classics fan (i dont know how many posts and threads ive done over the years on here lol. I'm slowly building my DVD collection up and i love the 2nd Dr era. My only complaint at the moment is the revisitation box sets coming out so now i only buy DVD's made from 2008 due to the re-release factor.

Pyrovile

I think if it came right down to it, Doctor #2 would be my favorite as well, with Pertwee and Tom Baker a close 2nd and 3rd.  I started watching DW when I was about 10 years old.

Thanks guys! This show has become my new obsession. I have bought many trinkets and a couple t-shirts. My wife is thrilled, of course. One more thing for me to go on about and watch obsessively.
