Just got back from this movie.  WOW.  I really enjoyed it.  Such a fresh and unique take on it.  The story was solid, the acting was amazing, and the CGI will knock you over.  It was so well done you don't even realize the apes aren't real from the get go.  I was kind of worried it would be cheesy, but honestly, it was not.  You care about the characters, and this time around it all makes WAY more sense.  This is a must see for any animal lover or original Apes fan.  I really enjoyed a few nods to the original movie.  Prett darn cool.

ANYWAY-  Go see this on the big screen.  VERY COOL.

I have been and always will be, your friend.

Thanks for the review Rick!  You're preaching to the choir, I'll be seeing it this weekend!

Yeah, I think the previews for this have been very compelling from a story standpoint and terrific visually. Going to make the effort to see this one, more so then Cowboys and Aliens which I am hearing from friends not such good things about. Too bad.

I've heard the exact opposite so if you love scifi + western, go see it.

Think it is ok for a 10 year old to see?

It is pretty dark, a few very intense moments and there is blood.  It depends on what the ten year old is used too.  There were some little kids in the theater.. but not many.

I'm waiting for my wife to get back from her vacation with my dad, stepmom, sister in law, & neice to go see this. I think it will be a ggod one. If this would have been the Conan weekend she wouldn't have cared if I'd seen it.

Just saw this movie tonight.  Really enjoyed it and thought it was very well done.  They kept it serious and did a very good job of making you really care about Caesar and especially his relationship with Will, the James Franco scientist character.  And I barely recognized Draco Malfoy in the role he had in this movie.  I had a few tiny things I didn't care for, but overall it's really good.  The apes CGI stuff is just great.  If you enjoy the Apes movies and ideas, go see this one.

Should be a great movie if the lead character is named Will! Plan to see this this weekend. Might catch not only with my wife but maybe my brother too.

Which bits didn't you care for?

I have a hard time with cruelty to animals.  I think I've mentioned before but I was almost going to be a Vet.  So any movie that has that kind of stuff in it gets to me a little.  I also find sometimes it's a bit cliche in the way they portray some people who work in labs and places that deal with animals.  But, most of that is just my personal feelings.

Yeah I see what you mean about cliche. They definitely pushed the animal cruelty aspect to get us to sympathise with the apes and it worked.
