Yes, it's been made pretty clear that the Noah Wyle character knows history and tactics and what's worked in the past and what hasn't.  Keep in mind these aliens don't know us, or how we think yet.  I find things pretty believable so far - given it's an alien invasion story.

Thoughts on last nights episode? I liked it however:
It was pretty predictable. The soldier from the other group, you just KNEW he had bad intentions, especially when he said that he needed to take every one under the age of 20 to a "safe location". I didn't like the episode only for that reason though, the predictability of it. One thing that has me intrigued though is the story line with the skidders and the kids. What Ben said about them actually caring about the kids and all. Interesting...
M-5

I agree with you.  Very predictable.

I completely agree.  We're on the same page, M-5 & QuadShot.  ;)

I finally had a chance to see this episode and also agree with the above thoughts, although I thought it was pretty good and enjoyed it regardless.

Yeah, I like the show. It may not be action packed every episode, but I love the character stories and development.

Me and my gf have been watching this series since day one.  it is a good show I think and she is not normally intersted in sci-if, my gf is more of a horror fan, that she likes it as well.  we got the last two episode's recorded and I am going to try to watch  them latter.  it is a very action pack show i think.  I like how the Noah Willey charther is a college history professor.  he is always quoting  military history.
I am going with the best information that I have.

So, anyone watch last nights episode???

Not yet.  I rarely watch anything "live" anymore.

Ok, no spoilers then :) But...it was a good episode, and next week's the 2 hour season finale!

No Al.....it was a GREAT episode! This show has brought me back in and even Jamie is enjoying it with me! Wow, this was really good tonight. I have been a fan of Will Patton since "No Way Out" and he was great.
At first I thought it was going to be an ID4 rip off when the doctor opened the skitter, but I like the twist that the harnessed kids are being tunred into skitters. And the new tall aliens! So cool! And Pope steals the show, he was really funny. We can't wait for the finale!
I agree Bryan. I was being...reserved on my assessment.
Oh man, I totally agree with the twist! I LOVED that the Skitters are harnessed beings too. So, that explains why the "mother" Skitter was so caring with the harnessed kids. I love the "brains" behind the invasion too. Very familiar looking aliens...And Yep! POPE rocks. I'm so glad they brought him back in. I thought his role is great.
Few thoughts on the last episode
Love the way the aliens are using classic wartime techniques as regards tackling resistance fighters and leaving behind "friendly" informers.

I didn't like the CGI look of the biped aliens. Design wise I was fine, but it's that shiney liquid look that CGI has that I didn't like. But, for the limited TV show budgets, I can forgive that and choose to ignore. In the same way as I choose to ignore the zipper on the backs of aliens in 60's and 70's sci-fi :)

These bipedal aliens. Anybody else wonder if this is the result of harnessing humans? Maybe they are human inside and we are yet to actually see the true invader?
No, I think the kids are heading to skitter ville. Remember when the doc was examining the kids implants and they are hardening, like a shell. I'm not convinced the tall aliens are the real deal, either though.
