I don't buy it. Felt like a cop out to me.

I'm glad I was watching it alone.  I got a little teared up when
he made the phone call and got the news about the Brigadier.  Very sad, but a nice nod  to Nicholas Courtney.
The ending to me seemed weak, but it will be interesting to see where it goes after the Christmas special.

That was a very nice touch.

Well totally loved it, didn't see the end coming, loved, loved the tribute. And come on the line
" I have a time machine Dorian" ala Back to the future.
was brilliant.

Doctor Who Confidential showed a great River complete compilation. Answers a lot for those with an attention span of a cybermat. Lol

Ps did anyone notice
Mark Gatiss as Gantok, The ugly Viking type playing chess with The Dr
I liked the finale a lot....   :tardis
But, I'll admit I saw his way out of it all coming a mile away.  It was pretty obvious I thought.  But, it didn't really stop me from enjoying the episode.  Lots of fun!
I think this has been a brilliant series, best of new Who easily, as for Dr Who finales I'm afraid nothing will ever beat Caves of Androzani.

Where going to have a lot to talk about during our next Who Podcast :)

Oh I think so, especially as there is so many nods to the classic series. One big thing I noticed was
The Dr's robot moved normally as Amys and the German officer were stiff as a board. They must have worked overtime to get those limbs moving quickly lol
I enjoyed the story and the last few minutes were very good showing elements of what they might be exploring next. I didn't like the resolution...
The opening was fun but I was hoping they wouldn't go down the route of visual extravaganza that they did. Another Moffat finale that chucks in 100 characters and elements of past episodes? Really? It didn't add anything to the focus if the story and in my opinion served as a distraction.

Using the robot ship as a fake Doctor that gets "killed"? Hmm I don't think this worked. Like Meds says the ship suddenly became very realistic as opposed to the past incarnations of the robot. I know the Doctor was driving but the movements were too fluid. I'll have to watch again but did the Doctor robot get shot regenerating in this version? I'm not sure how this would fool the Silence or how the Doctor is supposed to go low key after this.

So the Doctor / River Song relationship is now running in realtime as opposed to them meeting in time going in different directions? I suppose we will get more on this later in the series.

I have been saying for a while I was worried this arc was getting way too complicated to resolve logically for me and I think my prediction has come true. It's almost like "Lost" and how they had to deal with that.

Still enjoying the series very much but I am looking forward to some powerful stand alone stories.

I've watched all episodes again after initial showing and you know the arc is not complicated really. Confidential ran Rivers story line from her begining to her end, that was fun and still leaves us the future of River getting a sonic and also actually knowing The Dr's Name. There is still lots of questions unanswered but I like that.
Smith is Fast becoming one of The best Dr's of all time.

I wish though that the Cybership that was crashed in Closing time had a skeleton in the driving seat with yellowish green clothing and had the Dr bow his head as the realization that it was the ship Adric died on. When Tom on the DWP suggested that I thought what a great opportunity missed.

I think the favourite thing for me with regards to this finale was
...the lives we saw happening for River, Rory and Amy. We get to see how River and Amy's relationship works with her popping in to see them and having to explain to each other about where they are in each others timelines. We also get to see that, although locked up for murder, River does get to have a married life with the Doctor.

I am seeing a lot of internet talk about the Doctor's cheating of death being a bit of a cop out. I can see where they are coming from, but a few times since we saw the lakeside death scene, I've seen ways that they could have used to have the Doctor's death not happen. And the use of the tesselector seemed like the most obvious one. I think peoples disappointment in this is from their expectations having not been met.

Their fault for having too high expectations or Doctor Who's fault for building up peoples hopes? I don't know. But overall, I enjoyed it a lot. I didn't feel it was a "cop out" ending as I expected for a while that it would be relatively straight forward. For me, it's all about the characters now
