The pan was diliberate. On confidential they said they knew the audience would get where they were but the fun was that Amy & Rory wouldn't.

I agree with X in terms of his assessment of the episode.

It was nice to get back to a more generic and standalone story this week. Hopefully, anyone who caught this one by accident wouldn't be put of by the need to follow three years worth of backstory!
So it's not just Hitler who gets put in the cupboard then!
I know it's unnusual here but I don't have a podcast of my own.

Beautiful latest episode. Some amazing acting all the way through.

The makeup job on Amy was really good.  I'm liking these more contained episodes.  I'm not liking the overuse of the sonic tools by the companions though.
Reavers!

WOW!  Amazing recent episode.  Man, these three main actors can act!  The ending was gut wrenching.  What an impossible choice to have to make.  Just a really powerful episode.
I liked the look for older Amy, except for her hair.  Unless that place she was stuck in had a salon, her hair just looked way to good and colorful still after all those years.
I sense a bit of jealousy coming here Rico, ;)

Nahh.  Just pointing out something kind of obvious I thought when I watched.  But it certainly didn't really detract from my enjoyment of the episode.

LOL i know what you mean. I thought they would have put a  few streaks in there. A beautiful episode without a shadow of doubt.

Just finished the latest.. Gut wrenching was right.. I cried like a baby.. I love Amy and Rory's relationship.

Really enjoyed this one. There's something about a classic, stand-alone story that really returns Dr Who to what it should be in my eyes. The long arc stuff is enjoyable enough, but it doesn't (appently) beat a good, well told single episode.

I agree. I was getting a little fed up of River Song / Amy stories. I am slightly more excited by the fact that the arc is coming to an end than the actual resolution at the moment.

Oh Dan, Dan, Dan. There is a dark gloom over your geekyness of late sir, Star Wars and Dr Who. ;) LOL

Haha well it's just nice to have a break from the arc thats all. I read that next year Moffat plans to have no arcs and just great stories so I suppose I got carried away with that notion. :)

Man, I love the arc stuff in Doctor Who and in most TV series.  I'll miss it badly if it just goes to one-off episodes each week.
