WOW! Just watched this this morning. I'm glad i was able to fast foward through commercials. Very well done episode.
Liked the part when The Doctor activated the voice "thing" and it went through different companions. And Riversong was awesome in this episode. It was weird to see Hitler but it's funny that they locked him in a closet and never shown again.
Pyrovile

I really enjoyed it too.

Will...
I liked that part as well, but wouldn't it have been nice if the voice interface could have been some of the classic series companions as well.  Nice inclusion of Liz, but I could have done without Billie and Freema.  [/SPOLIER]

Yeah I must admit i would have
liked older companions, it would have been a great chance for them to have put a second or third Dr companion in there. putting Rose in was such a irritating thing to do, but hey ho
For the most part, I've always felt the "new series" of Doctor who has tried to sort of do it's own thing and distance itself from the past, to a degree.  So I can see the reasoning why they picked who to show and so forth.

I think with RTD yes but not with Moffat, having
Rose, Martha
pop up seem to be a bit lazy really. Having a
companion like Adric say, who died saving the Dr and Earth would have been brilliant, ok he needed someone without guilt so Ian and Barbara would have been ideal
little nods to the older series is very important and i think Moffat knows that especially with what will be coming in 2013.

I feel the need to watch this episode again as i'm still so happy with it.

I think they went with the
newer companions because alot of the Who fans today are new and would have no idea who the older companions were.
Agreed.

Meds,
you should also remember that to show an image, you need to have rights and for older images, it might involve royalities and rights that they don't have. Nor do they have access to get the stills needed for the HD screen. I think it was good that they had what they had. I was personally expecting to see the Doctor's daughter as the interface because it would have given a certain amount of symmetry to the story.
Pyrovile,
I really liked seeing Freema. I also really liked her season on Doctor Who.
Loved the episode. I'm loving where Moffatt is taking the show. :)
Well on Sarah Jane Adventures we saw Jo Grant. They showed Sarah Jane as one of the interfaces, why not show Jo Grant? I'm sure they could have used any promotional stills the BBC had (if they had any) to recreate any of the other companions.
My feelings on
Rose has been well documented on here & I understand the fondness new Who fans have for her because it's their first companion, mine was Nyssa & Adric as I remember later Tom Baker but to put Rose in was a bit predictable. Honestly I hoped they would have briefly shown The Brigadier considering Nic Courtney recently passed away
though I don't want this quibble ( and it's a minor ) quibble to take anything away from how great this episode was.

Sorry, where did anyone see
Sarah Jane?
Just checked again on iPlayer for the third time and I saw
Rose, Martha and Donna. Sarah was somewhat...thinner than Donna I think! (see [link]http://www.stellarfour.com/2011/05/donna-noble-travels-through-time-space.html[/link] for the original image)
It was an interesting episode and played well for those following the overall arc that's currently playing but that's all it did. I enjoyed it perfectly well and was on the edge of my seat (literally) at some points but, at the back of my mind, is a growing concern that Moffat's putting too much energy into appealing to the die-hard fanbase and may lose the casual viewer in the process. I hope not, but...

I loved the use of Hitler in this episode. As a role of that size it's going to be one that I remember for years to come! The whole family nearly died laughing at the whole
Rory, put Hitler in that cupboard over there
sequence. That was a couple of minutes with soooo many classic lines!

Next week looks a little more traditional I think.

I know it's unnusual here but I don't have a podcast of my own.

Well the latest Dr Who episode was bloody fantastic, I mean segments of horror from our childhood, nods to classic horror films, sentimental emotion and great lines. BRILLIANT.

Enjoyed the most recent episode.  Some great lines and I really liked how the Doctor dealt with the scared young boy in this one.   :tardis

Found this and loved it.  These two just seem made for each other...

Karen + Matt ; do the D.A.N.C.E.

I enjoyed the last one, but it was very predictable in some ways.
As soon as they picked up the pan, I knew where they were. The why was still something to figure out, but not the where or what. Because I've put many of those things together for my little girl, I also caught on to the lighting and how it looked like the lighting in some of her toys.
over all I enjoyed it, but wasn't too surprised or scared.
