The thing is that I'm playing Alliance now, which I havent done since 2006 and even then I didn't get past lvl 50 or so.  So some of the stuuf I can't tell if it's new or just stuff I haven't seen before.  Obviously the Worgen/Goblin content is new.  But there was a cool quest line with a bunch of demons at Jadefire run in Felwood that were masquerading as Night Elves, and you eventually have to kill the Arch Druid in Whisperwind Grove.  Couldn't tell at all if that was new.  There was another of the in engine cut scene type events tied into that where you see the fall of Illiden and his battle with Arthas.  That felt new for sure.

My understanding is any of those cutscenes are new. The mechanism to create and play them didn't exist until Wrath.

Jobydrone

Well maybe cutscene is not the right description.  The quest I saw wasn't like the Wrathgate scene that was in WOTLK, this was more like the end of the epic Thrall/Greatmother questline in BC when Thrall comes to Outland and it shows the climactic events of Warcraft II outside the Greatmother's hut.  All in game, in engine, where you have control of your character and can choose to watch or not.  I feel fairly certain though that this is new content.

So, anyone level 85 yet?  Did anyone get up early and play??

I jumped in this morning to buy my Flight Master's License (200 gold with Exalted Orgrimar rep bonus heh), saw the cutscene in the Maelstrom, ported to Dalaran to unlock my professions (inscription and herbalism) and then zipped to Hyjal to start questing.  I saw the quest reward for the first major quest is a chest pice that's item level 267, way way better than my heroic Naxxaramas purples :( Played only about ten minutes overall...dying to get home and get the kids to bed early!

edit:  ooh 999 posts...my next one is going to have to be a goodie.

I hear there already is a world first 85. I think Blizzard is looking into it to make sure it wasn't done via an exploit.

Rico

Well, of course someone is 85 already.  Now, they start the wait for the next expansion already.  LOL!

I logged in pre-cata yesterday and my Gatherer addon displayed the following message, it made me chuckle.

Blackride

There are definetly level 85's on my server already.....
Ripley: Ash. Any suggestions from you or Mother?
Ash: No, we're still collating.
Ripley: [Laughing in disbelief] You're what? You're still collating? I find that hard to believe.

Popped into the game quick for a little bit.  Messed around in the new Worgen starting town.  Pretty neat.  I'll post more pics soon, but here's the character creation area.  It's kind of fun how you can set the appearance of the human and wolf side of your Worgen separately.

Isn't a worgen druid kind of redundant? A wolf that transforms into a cat or a bear? :)

I didn't make a druid.  That was just selected when I grabbed the screen.  I don't even know yet when or how you "wolf out."  I didn't in the early fights I was doing.
