Loved the movie.

A great movie, with impressive depth.  It draws you in and keeps you interested, and thinking.  I have only one complaint, there is a point in the movie in which the main character does something which made no sense at all.  I will explain-
He whacks christopher over the head with the two by four and hops into the command module.  Why?  He can't hope to fly it, he has no idea where to take the Mothership, and with out Chrispohers help how can he hope to be cured?  And why leave Christopher to the mercy of the MNU, and the poor little kid Fatherless?  It just made no sense...
But it is still an impressive peice of work, and once you realize it was made for a mere 30 million it becomes even more impressive.

I totally agree. This was one of my first takes on it! However, I think Rico is right.
I was just warming to the character and then he did that. I'm not sure how much I actually liked him as a main character. Also, Christopher, his son and his friend seemed different to the other aliens. Does anyone think there's a possibility that they are some other being that was transfered into a prawn as Wickers was? Maybe thats what Christophers son meant when he was comparing the arms and saying "You are the same as me!"
I've been looking for a podcast thats a bit unique....something that offers a bit more than TV or Movie. Don't get me wrong, I love all my geek podcasts....this one looks different though. Will give it a try.....Thanks for that

Listened today and really enjoyed it. I'm not religous, I don't know if I believe in a god or not. But I am not an Atheist or Agnostic, so really enjoyed this podcast. Thought provoking yet not preachy!  I have an online friend that is big into Trek/Sci-Fi and is also very religous. I will pass the link onto him. I'm sure he'll love it! Can I recommend going into the archives of StarBase 66 podcasts. This friend appeared on an Admirals Roundtable episode called (if memory serves correctly) Gift of the Gab. Religion and sci-fi came up as the main theme. Very interesting

Saw this last night.  It was quite good!  A great side swipe at apartheid in South Africa.  I wonder if there will be a sequel?

Yeah I'd say they left it pretty open for District 10.

For some reason I didn't see this post.  Thanks!  I have subscribed to Starbase 66.  :)  Yeah, I tried to talk about the morality of the movie and how it relates to us.

GAB got back to me to say that religious podcasts he'd listened to before have never appealed to him....However, he really enjoyed yours and has also subscribed.
