Can't get used to a mouse and keyboard?!?!  I'm left handed too and I can't get used to a gamepad!  LOL!  Anyway, I just like the flexibility of a PC a lot more than a console.

Yeah, is that weird?  I'm talking about for gaming, for situations where you have to have fast reactions and use the keyboard without looking at it.  I'm a pretty fast typist, but I still only mostly use my two index fingers and have to look at the keyboard.  Not great for gaming where you have to have one hand on the mouse and be watching the screen.  The other thing is that until recently, I've never had a computer that could play modern games.  It was always cheaper, at least with the initial outlay of cash for the hardware, to have a console, so thats the way I went for all my gaming, and my PC was only ever able to play games that were years and years old.  Even my last computer was a laptop, and not able to handle current games beyond WoW.  Now I have my iMac, which is a powerhouse, and I've been playing some games on it, but the ones that don't have gamepad support are going to take a whole lot of getting used to.

I do like the customization of games for the computer, and I've been experimenting with Far Cry 2, a fist person shooter thats been out for a couple years now, but I really can't say that I like WASD movement or the arrow keys either.  Give me a gamepad any day!

A guy playing a shooter type game with a mouse and keyboard typically destroys a gamepad player.  Microsoft found this out when they tried to link players on consoles with those on a PC.

Some games *apparently* have managed to find a balance between the two on the FPS front.

Really?  What games?  Most don't even allow cross-platform play.

*smacks forhead* the games I was referring to are in development like Counter Strike: GC.  My bad.  Although I could have sworn the Modern Warfare games allowed cross-platform action.

The big cross-platform one that was tried was Shadowrun when Microsoft was touting their Windows Games initiative.  And after the console owners got "PWNED" they kind of gave up on that idea.  :)

Yeah it's the mouse that confers that speed and accuracy advantage, but it's mostly the keyboard that gives me trouble, or rather having to use the keyboard one handed, with my weaker hand.  I don't play those competitive shooters anyway, so I wish the games I really want to play on my computer, like Oblivion and Dragon Age 2, offered gamepad support.

anyone here heard of minecraft? most of the kids at school are crazy about it.
Yeah that game has been in beta for forever now!  Or did they finally release a final build?  That game is the first ever to make millions of dollars before it was officially even released.  I've heard it's awesome but haven't tried it yet.  I'm kind of afraid of addiction, I've heard it is very compelling.

I've just completed James Bond blood stone which was pretty good. Now I'm waiting for Batman Arkham City to be released :)

Finished Deus Ex. It was pretty OK, a bit to linear for me compared to the last one. But, there's lots of cool upgrades for your character and the visuals are pretty great.

Arkham City looks to be great. I love beating up thugs as Bats.

My younger son Eric has played Minecraft for quite awhile now.  He really loves it.

I actually preordered the new Batman, something I never do but I was trading in games to get Dead Island and got more money for them by putting $5 down on it.  Batman is a day one purchase for me, I loved the first one.  Looking forward to the addition of Robin and Catwoman as playable characters.
