I've not started them yet but I spotted the box set (after a great reccomendation by Al on Highway To Mars) of Christopher Paolini's "Inheritance" pts 1 & 2, Eragon and Eldest.

Brand new for a crazy £2 for the set! Couldn't pass that up!

I've really enjoyed all three Eragon books so far.  Number 4 is due out next month I think too.

Finished some more graphic novels from the library.
Superman/ Batman: Torment. 9
Superman/Batman: The Search for Kryptonite. 10 This was a really good one.
Started back into Blackest Night with Black Lantern Corps - Vol. 1. It contains the Blackest Night stories of Batman, Superman & The Titans.I keep telling myself I'm not going to get anymore graghic novels from the library but I can't help it. I also have picked up some Marvel Civil War books including Fantastic Four. That book is HUGE!

I did hit the bargain box again and he was running a 25 cent for comics sale! I ended up getting 72 comics! To many to take a picture of, but here is a quick rundown of a few of them.
Tek World issue 7-23. Many of The Futher Adventures of Indiana Jones, some more Justice League America, some Superman, the 007 For Your Eyes Only comic adaptation 2 parter, and the X-Men 2 comic and the Nightcrawler & Wolverine prequel comics. A pretty good bounty!
I about had a heart attack when the kid working there said they were moving! I calmed down when he said it was into another store in the same shopping center.

Hi
I vary what i read.  I read a Sci-Fi or fantasy with thrillers, historical fiction, history texts and military.  So at the moment I have Killing Rommel on my MP3, The collaborator on CD in the car and I am reading Warrior Soul about a Navy SEAL.  Next on my list is to re-read David Gemmell's Lord of the Silver Bow - a reworking of the Troy story.  Absolutely brilliant.  Then it will probably be some Ben Bova Sci-Fi.

cheers

Up to book 3 in the Fate of the Jedi series, Abyss. Quite an interesting series so far! On the audio front, I'm at A Storm of Swords...season 3 of Game of Thrones also promises to be good!

Almost two years ago a friend of mine passed away that was a big sci-fi and comics fan. A couple days ago another of his closer friends, Andy, came into where I worked and wanted to know if I would like some of his comics. I said sure I would be glad to have some. I was thinking a couple of small comic boxes. He brought to my house yesterday 4 HUGE comic boxes. I'm talking the really long white boxes you see in comic shops. There are a ton of comics! I have looked through alot of them and he had some weird stuff and some I never knew about. I'm looking foward to reading alot of them but not sure what do to with some of the titles like The Spectre. Never been a fan of that comic its a little to weird for me. I'm glad Andy thought of me because I'll enjoy these for more than just a good comic story.

Sorry about your friend, but good score!  Enjoy the books and think about your buddy while you read them.

Went through my freinds boxes of comics and he had some good ones in there. There wasn't any biggies like Superman or Spiderman which is ok but their were some Flash, Alpha Flight, Fantastic Four, Teen Titans, Deadshot, Suicide Squad, She-Hulk, Battlestar Galactica 1st series, Captain America, Avengers, and 3 different series of Jonah Hex including Jonah Hex #1!! And I'm talking the first series #1 Jonah Hex.
Also hit the bargain box again and found some good ones Including some Indiana Jones. Check out the pic.
There was a comment made at the Game of Thrones Comiccon panel that very much led me to believe that we will be seeing the Red Wedding at the end of the NEXT season of the HBO show, rather than season three.  One of the actors asked what we could look forward to in the next season, and the response was "well if we make it to RW then we will be doing ok."  Ill look for the exact quote and source
GRRM also said he was nervous about how many people would get upset and stop watching post-RW.

Last week, I started "Fighting for Keeps" by Mur Lafferty (who I also hung out with a bit at WorldCon), and it's fantastic.  I've only read it on my 2 flights (because I just haven't had any time lately), and I'm 420 pages in, and hate putting it down.

Here's Mur's description:
The shining metropolis of Seventh City is the birthplace of super powers. The heroes are jerks, but they have the best gifts: flight, super strength, telepathy, genius, fire. The third generation of people with powers- the Third Wave- are stuck with the leftovers: the ability to instantly make someone sober, the power to smell the past, the grace to carry a tray and never drop its contents, the power to produce high-powered excrement blasts, absolute control... over elevators. Bar owner Keepsie Branson is a Third Waver with a power that prevents anything in her possession from being stolen. Keepsie and her friends just aren't powerful enough to make a difference. at least that's what they've always been told. But when the villain Doodad slips Keepsie a mysterious metal sphere, the Third Wavers become caught in the middle of a battle between the egotistical heroes and the manipulative villains. As Seventh City begins to melt down, it's hard to tell the good guys from the bad, and even harder to tell who may become the true heroes.
Playing For Keeps was published in 2008 and won the 2008 Parsec Award for best Novel.
