"night of the living trekkies" is about a convention that is taken over by a zombie attack. not a good book to read right before bed. ;)

turtlesrock, you shouldn't read ANY zombie books before bed! LOL
I have recently read some really good graphic novels.
Heroes for Hire - Civil War - rate it a 9
Fantastic Four - Civil War - 10+ this was a great one. It included Black Panther & Young Avenger/Runaways Civil War. The thing weighted a ton.
Superman/Batman - Finest Worlds - 8
Superman/Batman - Night and Day - 7
Green Lantern - Emerald Allies - 9. This was with Kyle Rayner GL and Conner Hawke was Green Arrow. Very interesting story.
Started the Brightest Day Vol. 1 and have Vol. 2 here as well. Looking foward to those as well as a couple more Civil War's.

I actually read this one - and even posted a review on Amazon.  :)

The Stand - Stephen King

I loved the mini-series. I was a freshman in high school when this movie came out. I had to get at least a B in civics class to stay up to watch it every night. This movie has a great opening song.

Awesome book!  Probably Stephen King's very best.

Just finishing up the recent Zahn SW novel "Choices of One". It's a good one!

Just finishing Storm of Swords, and have Feast For Crows coming in the mail.  I was very upset to see that Roy Dutrice didn't do the reading on Feast For Crows - the unabridged audio edition that is - but has done so for the latest.  he is outstanding.

Just finished Storm of Swords....wow!  GRRM has an amazing imagination.

I kind of regret not taking a little more time with the ASOIAF series.  Now that I am done all the way through the most recent book, I feel like some of the most dramatic moments spread across the five books might have had less impact than they could have because they came in so rapid a succession.  Plus now I am in the same boat as everyone else, waiting for GRRM to write another chapter in the series.  How do you feel about that Pete?

And now I just started the latest fate of the jedi book "Ascension". The first 50 pages have been really good but this series has been a bit of a grind.

I'm reading the complete series "Y-The Last Man" a comic by Brian Vaughn about a plague that wipes out every male on the planet, except for one twenty-something kid and his pet monkey.  I'm about nineteen issues in and I am hooked.

So far I am satisfied with the pacing - but I think my opinion may change with the 4th book - which I am going to start this week.  I was just stunned with some of the things that happened along the way to finishing book 3.  Characters are all different shades of gray - they all have their motivations.
@jobydrone I grok what you are saying!  I have been doing the audiobooks (until the 4th book) - although I am not getting the 4th audiobook since a different reader does that one.
Tyrion blows me away in the 3rd book!

Yeah I think I enjoyed SOS most of all the books.  Even with my reservations now, in hindsight, I still could not have stopped myself from reading through to the end of the series, I was so hooked.  I think I am going try the audio books next and pace myself a little better this time.  I'm sure it will offer a whole new perspective on the series having it read to me.  Then in a little while the HBO series part 2!  Can't wait!!!

I'm in book 4 right now. It's definitely less intense then the third. I'm enjoying it though.

One of my biggest issues with it is the fact I'm listening to them in audio format and for book 4 they changed the narrator from Roy Dotice to John Lee. Lee is a greeat narrator but he changes everyone's accents and pronounces names differently.

Putting this in spoiler tags since even if I just mentioning character names relating to Game of Thrones can be spoilers :)
For example, in the first 3 books, Dotrice pronounced Littlefinger's first name as "Pet-eye-er" whereas Lee jsut calls him "Peter". There are other like the queen etc, just a touch annoying.

I was lucky that I listened to a sample of BK4 before purchasing it - as I would have been very upset - assuming Roy Dutrice is reading (he does read book 5 luckily).  Roy does a great job - even if there is some over-running of different voices.
For instance I noticed his voice for Tywin Lanister changed in mid-stream and starting sounding just like Winston Churchill!  His voice for Jaime and Tyrion has - to my ears - a strong Welsh accent.  :)
