Like the headline says, this is the first pic relating to 2009's G.I. Joe and it arrives via IESB. Nothing to snipe at here, costume looks spot-on for what it is. Dennis Quaid previously said he might go with some blond highlights for the role of General Hawk, but it seems he's keeping it pretty Quaidish. I'm still curious to see how they pull Destro's look off, what with those wild and crazy flat-top rumors.

First look: 'G.I. Joe' aims to bridge eras of toy, TV fans

Say hello to Snake Eyes — just don't expect him to say anything back.

This is the first character reveal from next summer's G.I. Joe movie — the mute, faceless, black-clad ninja commando, among the most famous of the good guys from the 1980s incarnation of the decades-old Hasbro toy line.

Just as Paramount breathed new life into the Transformers franchise last summer, the studio is hoping to do the same to this sci-fi soldier series about a team of military experts battling the villainous Cobra organization.

G.I. Joe refers to the team, not any one person, and Snake Eyes is its mysterious lone wolf. In the movie, shooting now and set for August 2009, this fearsome figure is played by Ray Park (Darth Maul in the first Star Wars prequel).

"He's the world's greatest ninja, but he's also next-generation. He's not afraid to use a sword one second, and a split-second later he's pulling out his Glock," says director Stephen Sommers (The Mummy and Van Helsing). "His chief nemesis is arguably the world's other great ninja, Storm Shadow. The two grew up together, were blood brothers and now are mortal enemies."

Rachel Nichols as Scarlett in upcoming G.I. Joe

A few weeks ago, G.I. Joe fans were salivating over USA Today's first images of Snake Eyes from the upcoming live-action feature. Now fans may be salivating for a different reason with the official release of photos of actress Rachel Nichols as Scarlett in the upcoming feature film.

The image features Nichols with red-hair and in Scarlett's costume for the feature film.

The official line on Scarlett is that her full name is Shana M. O'Hara, according to the movie's Wikipedia entry. She was born in Atlanta, Georgia. Although she is as adept with standard weapons as any of her comrades, her weapon of choice is the crossbow which fires various bolts with specialized functions. Her rank is Master Sergeant, and she serves from time to time as team leader. Her primary specialty for the team is counter intelligence and is additionally skilled in martial arts and acrobatics. Of note, her secondary military specialty remains classified in all of her file cards

Scarlett looks good. I just wish Hollywood would use other colors than black in these costumes.

Kenny - not sure if you are on a Mac or PC right now.  But on a PC you can snap what is on screen by hitting the 'print screen' key.  Then open some type of image program and paste.  Kind of a pain, but it works.  I use a program called "Hypersnap" too that works great for this.  I grabbed the image below with the above method.

I was going to complain that while the women in this movie are ridiculously hot, there is no way that they'd look anything like this is reality if they were doing what they are doing. Then I realized this is a movie adaptation of GI JOE.

So with that in mind, looks good to me!

Ok...I looked at the pics at the site that Kenny linked and I have a couple of questions/comments.

1)  Who is the blond....I am racking my brain and I cannot come up with a name.

2)  I am with batmite.....too much of the black costume....now prolly they have more than 1 uniform so I will reserve final judgement.

3)  Is that Storm Shadow and the Baroness...if so...SWEET!

I did read that Christopher Eccleston was playing Destro and that we would see him in the chrome dome at some point.....SWEET!
