No, if you can find a shop that'll look at it by all means take it in. It may be something obvious and sometimes just having another brain look at it will solve the issue. When my laptop had bad ram I ended up bringing it in and they found the issue right away.

I don't think this is bad ram....well...idk. I'm not even sure if there is such a place in town. I guess I'll just get my roommate/other friends to give a check over. Cause now my LAN connection doesn't even show up in Network Connections...my computer hates me.... :mad2: :wallbash: :lamo :bond

Well, before I destroy something :dstar I'm going to turn on Enya and play some wow in a bit so I keep sane. I can't afford another External Drive and my current hardrive is nearly maxed so...yea....much....ticked....right...now........... :hate :hate :shootgun:

What do you mean the format failed? Run a chkdsk on it first, see if there are errors and fix those, then FDISK it.

No, I'm not buying a mac while I live here. I have enough issues with PCs...

As for format, it seems to have worked, but it still has a problem. I'll run a Check Disk on it.

Ok, I've had my friends look at it and they are stunned at the amount of problems with my laptop and confused. We're going to work on it later this week.

Your problems could be multiplying, it is possible that something has corrupted on your OS, if you have had a lot of crash shutdowns, something might not have come down cleanly, and maybe part of Windows is corrupted. If you cannot isolate a hardware problem, then you will most likely have to format and rebuild Windows. With all your issues, it is probably not a bad idea to rebuild your windows if the hardware gets fixed.

Well, we're not sure but we think its because my computer is bad or it could be the external is faulty...its confusing to say the least...
