What do you collect?

Everyone here knows of course that I'm a big collector of props, replicas, toys, etc. But I'm curious what any of you collect that might be a bit outside that area? Maybe lunch boxes, comics, beanies, old newspapers, rubber bands, bottle caps, whatever, etc... So, let's hear about it.

What (if anything) do you collect?

I think the question really is.. what "don't" I collect :)

I collect way to much and have been really trying to cut back a bit..

Here is what I collect or have collected in the past

Action Figures, Comic Books, Movie Cards, TV Guides, Entertainment/Sci Fi Magazines, Star Trek Hamilton Plates, Vintage superhero t-shirts, shot glasses, magnets, Anything and all things Harry Potter, Star Trek, Star Wars, Firefly/Serenity and LOTR.

Yeah, I have a pretty good number of those Hamilton Plates too - stored away under my stairs. Almost forgot about those.

I collect
- WWII/Vietnam military items from uniforms to weapons
- Authentic movie props and wardrobe
- Classic Arcade and Video Game machines.
- 12" figures from Sideshow to Medicom
- Misc action figures from Star Trek,Star Wars and anything else :)
- Replica props

Bryan - nice award. That's something you can't just buy on eBay.

Blackride - OH - video game machines! Which ones? I've always wanted to have a full size Star Trek or Star Wars video game machine. Or even Donkey Kong!

Yeah my brother collects those.. he has I think about 20.. his garage looks like an arcade... it's pretty cool even though his wife doesn't think so.. well until he bought her a Ms Pacman.. now she's happy.

I'm not much of a collector of dust collector type items at all. I have a few things but not many. I have concentrated using my spending cash to build my DVD library and my Star Trek book and magazine collections. I do collect Disney DVDs, mostly animated and I am a huge fan of classic movies pre-1960. Especially B films like the Basil Rathbone's Sherlock Holmes films, or Tarzan, Charlie Chan, Mr. Moto, The Thin Man, Abbott and Costello, Bob Hope, Marx Brother etc. etc.

I suppose my most valued things in my collection are my complete runs of Star Trek TNG, DS9, and VOY magazines published by Starlog. All in mint condition and kept in plastic sleeves. I also have every issue from #49 to the end of the run at #155 of the Official Star Trek Fan Club Magazine, which later changed it's name to The Communicator. I also have every issue of Star Trek: The Magazine, which is my very favorite and I was so sad when it ceased publication. I also have many many other rare Star Trek related magazines. I'm also collecting the latest Star Trek magazine published by Titan. I suppose my magazine collection is near 400 issues.

I also have complete runs of the Malibu DS9 comic series in mint condition and complete runs of the DC Star Trek and DC TNG comics.

I also have somewhere around 700 Star Trek fiction and non-fiction books.

Besides that I really don't collect much. It's just more of a practical thing with me. If I had to choose to spend $50.00 on anything I could choose I would choose to spend the money on DVDs or books. They give me much more pleasure for my money IMO.

I collect action figures, 1/6th dolls (from Sideshow mostly), block figures, prop replicas, statues, busts.

That's it.

I don't really consider myself a comic book "collector". I just read them and put them away to read again.

I currently have a NEO GEO cab and many Jamma boards. I need to get another Cab to put them in as I sold my other.

I collect Action Figures, Prop Replicas, Some statues and busts, and Block figures as well. I am trying to focus more on what I collect, so some of my collecting patterns in the past I have changed a bit. I had started some Vintage Star Wars collecting a few years ago, and planning to continue that again after putting it to the side the past few years. Also working harder at collecting things outside of Star Wars, but still trying to maintain somewhat of a focus.

Also, though not intentional, I have seemed to have gathered a rather large collection of hats ;) . But it seems when I leave the house, I can still never find one to wear LOL. They seem to be hidden like unfound Easter candy around my house.

Hey Rico,
Being a big Doctor Who fan (Classic and new series) i'veto seein started collecting Tardis's and Police box's. I only have a few at the moment. I've a 3 inch model, the flying Tardis (a marvellous piece that is so detailed i really suggest you buy one) and a old model from the earli 90's. I'd love to start collecting more trek stuff but i think i'd stick with Tardis's before i go onto Enterprises. My DVD collection is my next passion and i'm doing ok with 400 +. Look forward to seeing more of your collectables. :dalek

I have a huge amount of comics (mostly Marvel from the late 70's to today), a few of which have actually jumped up in value quite a bit.

I had a huge collection of Star Wars figures when I was younger, but most of them vanished by the time I went to college. I now buy a figure every now and then, mostly vintage carded figures from the original films. Even though the figures being made now are light-years ahead of what Kenner put out in the 70's and 80's, I get a kick out of holding a carded, unopened figure just like those that I had as a kid. Every now and then, I'll pick up a newer figure if it strikes me as being too cool to pass up.

I have a few Gentle Giant Star Wars busts, as well as some BSG statues, figures, and ships.

I also have a fair-sized collection of Japanese Robots, mostly chogokin (die-cast) robots based on old Japanese robot Anime shows.

I'm a big fan of model building, kit-bashing and customizing. I have quite a few Star Trek ship models, mostly in the 1/2500 scale. One of my favorites is a resin Akira class starship- the same class as our beloved Tiberius! ;D

Growing up in the late sixties and seventies, my collection is probably old school compared to what many of you collect now. I have a complete set of the TOS Photonovels - which for many of us was the only way to see Trek for many years.

I also was fortunate that most of my models survived those young days - and I have restored many of them to a high level of detail. My old AMT Exploration Set adorns the lab in my basement and as I child I built electronics into the Phaser, Communicator and Tricorder. Hmmm, I remember having so many adventures with my friends and we all had that model. We used to go to a large industrial gravel pit that looked like an alien planet.

Those were great times!
