 LaBeouf This Generation’s Indy Jones?

http://www.sliceofscifi.com/2007/07/17/labeouf-this-generations-indy-jones/

Rumors in the Hollywood tabloids and on the Net are rampant that “Transformers” star Shia LaBeouf has signed an exclusive contract with Paramount that allows the studio to option the rising young star for up to three, possibly four, sequels to the Indiana Jones legacy.

Even though Harrison Ford is said to be doing most of his own stunts in this latest movie, now at 65, it is pretty obvious that he won’t be around for any other Indy movies after this fourth one, unless it is a brief cameo and I know that Paramount isn’t yet ready to let the franchise languish after this next film. So, the glaring choice is Shia as the man to continue the Jones saga.

“Indiana Jones 4″ is expected in theaters May 22, 2008 and besides Ford and LaBeouf (as Indy’s son), the movie will co-star Cate Blanchett, Ray Winstone, John Hurt and Jim Broadbent, with Karen Allen making a cameo appearance.

Rico

Not sure how I feel about that idea yet.  But I did like Shia a lot in "Transformers."  So I'll wait until we see the Indy movie next summer to decide.

No one has mentioned how UBER COOL Ray Winstone is ...

If you have not yet done so, watch a film from last year called "The Proposition".

It is a "western" from Australia, written by Nick Cave. It takes place during the Aboriginal War when Britain was trying to bring a semblance of law to the Outback.
One man, an outlaw, is given the task of killing his bigger brother, a major outlaw, in order to save his younger brother, not yet an outlaw. Ray Winston plays the British constable to chilling effect.

This is probably one of my Top 5 Movies of All Time. Now, they are using very heavy accents, so you may have to turn on the subtitles. Nothing is worse than watching this film with your wife, gushing your fanboy/film critic love for it all the way back to the car, then having her turn to you and say "I didn't understand it."

Saw these titles for the new movie dudes....

proposed titles include:

- Indiana Jones and the City of Gods
- Indiana Jones and the Destroyer of Worlds
- Indiana Jones and the Fourth Corner of the Earth
- Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull
- Indiana Jones and the Lost City of Gold
- Indiana Jones and the Quest for the Covenant

Is Ray Winstone the guy behind Karen Allen? Who is he in the film? I got a bet that Karen Allen will be in this movie for one scene and one scene only. Any takers?  :ohbaby

Rico

Yeah, that's Ray Winstone behind Karen.  Oh, and I think she has more of a part than one scene.

I like a few of those titles.  Funny thing is some of those titles I have heard in the past during the saga of getting this next movie to the screen.

Bryancd

The reason I said that is she is wearing the same outfit in all the pics and I am thinking that was her one day on the set. She is a bit of a flake .

Locutus

To be fair, Indy is wearing the same thing in most of the movies ... ;)
