Hmmm..iPhone 6 and 6+.  I cannot get through to the streaming events - my company firewall blocks me.  :(

looks like the iPhone 6 is $199/299/399+contract for 16Gb, 64Gb, & 128Gb, iPhone 6 Plus is $299/399/499+contract for the same capacities.  Rumors were true about screen sizes, 4.7" and 5.5", and both release 9/19.

Looks like the bigger glass wasn't that big of an issue for the bigger iPhone.  What do people think of the watch?

Bromptonboy

Watch looks amazing.  Just watched the video with my son.  I'll be interested in trying one out, and might even but one depending on the price.  Did they mention price?

can't wait to get a few watches ..... love how you navigate through the UI. Pretty slick and this is the first Gen!

Isn't it interesting how Apple has given Samsung so much grief with lawsuits because Samsung phones have looked like IPhones and now the new IPhone looks a whole lot like the Galaxy series. I hope our store gets some at or near the 19th. I want to see a working model and see how it feels in the hand. I'd never buy one for myself as I love Samsung products but I understand why lots of folks like the Iphone. To each his own I always say.

Lawsuits are for lawyers. For me, it's all about the OS and not the look. Heck, I use a Windows phone because work provides it for free. But I'd do an iPhone if I had that option because I like iOS.

Bromptonboy

Yeah, I don't mind the Windows phones at all - I like the interface.  I am just so heavily invested in iTunes and Apple apps.  If work gave me one, I would happily use a Windows phone.  They used to give us phones years ago (Nokia 6162 was my last work supplied phone).

The Windows interface is ok, but this Nokia has issues. Windows is still way far behind in App availability. Funny thing is, yesterday Windows phones got a big OS update. Seems funny to happen the same day new iPhones get announced.

I see Samsung is still going to have them beat on the camera side of the technology. The Iphone 6 only has 8 megapixels. I was hoping for better. So many people use their phones for cameras these days and IPhone pictures printed look like crap unless the conditions are ideal. Yea they look great on the phone they just don't look good printed. Samsung's Galaxy S5 has a 16 megapixel camera and the quality of photos comes pretty darn close to an inexpensive pocket camera, which means acceptable for the majority of pictures printed. I can't believe that Apple can't find a way to improve their camera sensor. That's a real shame. Since the majority of my job has to do with photography that's a pretty important feature and another reason I'll continue to promote the Galaxy S5 to customers that like to use their phones for photo memories.

Its not the amount of megapixels anymore its the quality of the camera.....the new iPHONE Camera & its technology smokes the competition.

I heard the watch is going for around $350 and is available early next year.  That price is way too high for me, I've always hated wearing a watch anyway.  That's what phones are for now!

As for an upgrade, my iPhone 5 is still making me pretty happy, I'll keep it until I start to have significant problems with it.  I was surprised and intrigued by the claims of dramitcally improved battery life on the 6 Plus.  This is the most frustrating thing about my iPhone 5...playing a game for like a half hour drains my battery from full to almost 50% or less, making it pretty much a no go for any kind of gaming unless I have access to a charger nearby.  Watching streaming video kills the battery quickly too.

I'm so tempted anyway, I was drooling over the most recent iteration of the Galaxy Note (3 I think?) but went with an iPhone 5 anyway.  Now being able to stay in the Apple ecosystem with all my apps and purchases from over the years, and still have the benefits of a big screen phone make it hard to resist.  Our family is broke like no joke though, so there's no way I can justify it.  I wish I could use my iPad with my current ATT contract, even just for data...but I'm still grandfathered into the unlimited data plan from when ATT bought out Cingular Wireless, so no tethering for me.

I have the unlimited data plan as well.  My old iPhone 4 is barely holding on, so this upgrade is a no brainer for me.  Like you, I am heavily invested in the iOS ecosystem.
I love the idea of the Watch, since I am constantly getting 'pages' from the office.  It would be great to just glance at my wrist, and not have to pull the phone out of my pocket - pouch.
