I can also recommend Christie Golden's World of Warcraft books. I enjoyed them quite a bit.

I'm finishing up Great North Road by Peter F. Hamilton. Awesome hard sci fi.

My daughter has me reading The Inheritance Cycle books. Finished Eragon a while back and now on the second. They're not bad actually but they do remind me of aspects of other book series (but with dwarves, elves and dragons there's only so much new stuff that can be written so there's bound to be similarities).

As much as anything it's nice to have someone else in the house who's able to recommend interesting series. It's worth having your kids get older after all!

I know it's unnusual here but I don't have a podcast of my own.

Rico

I greatly enjoyed all four of the Eragon/Inheritance series books.

Hit the comic shop yesterday.  And....

NICE. Out of that bunch I piked up the Star Wars and Fantastic Four.
Also just finished reading the graphic novel Star Wars: Clone Wars Vol. 8 - The Last Siege, the Final Truth. I really liked it and I have one more book in the series to read.

Awesome. The only thing keeping my out of the comics shop these days is the risk of getting sucked into that wonderful vortex and spending a little too much dough. I wish my current local library branch carried some graphic novels!

Comics: I received Chris Ware's Building Stories as a gift and recently finished that. Amazing stuff, I love Ware. And it is packaged in a beautiful board game shaped box. Now re-reading the Jimmy Corrigan book. Really great.

Praxis, my library is part of a system with other librarys where I can search for about any book including graphic novels and put them on hold. I have read a ton of graphic novels from the library that shipped from other librarys in the system.
Recent Reads.
Stormwatch - Vol. 1 - The Dark Side - 6. This was ok so I probaby won't check out the next one. This series is very sci-fi in nature if you know what I mean. That wasn't why I gave it a 6 though just didn't enjoy the story.
Nightwing - Vol. 1 - Traps and Trapezes - 8. Very good story where Dick is running a circus.
Batgirl - Vol. 2 - Knightfall Descends - 10. This was very good and I really liked the Zero issue that was part of the graphic novel. This is one to check out!
The Flash - Vol. 1 - Move Foward - 8. This was an interesting start to the series and some characters I didn't know. A lot about the speed force.
Green Lantern - Vol. 2 - The Revenge of the Black Hand - 7. This had some Black Lantern stuff that was kinda gross to me anyway.
War of the Green Lanterns - Aftermath - 8. This takes place before the New 52.
Now reading Star Wars: Dawn of the Jedi - Vol. 1 - Force Storm and the Haynes Star Wars Millennium Falcon which is very cool.

Finally picked up Star Wars #3 (loving the Alex Ross covers!), also JLA #1 (cool, different team. Catwoman!) New X-Men # 9 and Guardians of the Galaxy #1. If you want to be up on the new movie you should start this new series.

WillEagle: That is awesome. I was always much more of a marvel guy so I would love to get more familiar with the DC stuff. I'll have to see if I can get my hands on some of these. I've heard lots of good things about Nightwing so that will be on the top of my list. Also I've been curious about Flash because the title seems to have such a loyal following.

I have been enjoying the New 52 from DC for some time now. Lots of cool stuff to read. Check out Superman, Aquaman and Justice League. I even liked Justice League International but is was cancelled after 10 issues and a annual.
Also I just picked this up today. It's the 60th Anniversary Issue of TV Guide. It has 6 different covers covering the decades from the 50's to the 2000's. Covers we all would like include the 60's which you can probably guess is Star Trek and the 2000's which is Lost. The mag does include a pull out poster of all the covers. The wife wanted the Lost cover and I wanted the Trek one of course. So to keep the peace at home and to get out of hopefully doing the dishes (probably not) I let her get the Lost cover. Of course my mags with Trek on them out number her Lost ones by a very large number. Plus she had just bought me a Trek mag for my birthday.
Check out the pic of the Lost issue.

This week I've been listening to "It" on audiobook while working. So fantastic. Creepy fun and insightful characterization that rings true. I love me some SK!

Oh sweet, I was unaware of that! woohoo! I LOVE The Shining (book).   :thumbsup
Have you read the new Dark Tower book? What did you think?
And how about 11/22/63? I thought it was awesome.

Just finished a Star Wars Omnibus "At War With the Empire" - Vol. 1. This was 404 pages of Star Wars! It is set between Ep. 1 and 2. It covers many issues of the Empire comic series. I really enjoyed it and thanks to my local library I have Vol. 2 here.
I also recently read "Star Wars: Dawn of the Jedi" - Vol. 1. This takes place long before A New Hope but I thought it was well done.
I also just picked up from the library "Star Trek: The Visual Dictionary." 96 pages. Looking foward to reading this!
At War With The Empire - Vol. 1 - 9.
Dawn of the Jedi - Vol. 1 - 8.

11/22/63 is my favorite SK book in many years, maybe decades.  I've read everything, but this story was just miles away from anything else in recent memory.  I was pretty bummed by the whole way the Dark Tower turned out, it was so obviously rushed toward the end that the last three books just didn't compare to the first four.  The recent stand alone book was okay but forgettable, I can't even remember the title right now.  I'm a huge fan of his collaborations with Peter Straub, especially the first one, Talisman.  There's been a rumored sequel for years now, I hope it turns out to be true.
