Read some more graphic novels yesterday. The first one was Spiderman: The Graphic Novels. This has 4 seperate grahic novels that were originally printed in the 80's and 90's. The 4 stories are called "Hooky", "Parallel Lives", "Spirts of the Earth" & "Fear Itself". "Hooky" wasn't very good. My favorite was "Spirts of the Earth" which had spiderman in Scotland. I also read Green Lantern: New Guardians Vol. 1: The Ring Bearer.
Spiderman : The Graphic Novels - 7.
Green Lantern: New Guardians Vol. 1 - The Ring Bearer - 9. Very good! The new 52 Green Lantern books have been good reads.
Here is a link for the Spiderman.

Reading the latest Star Trek book by David R. George III. He's one of my personal favorite Trek authors.

I'm only a little over a 100 pages in but the story is not up to his usual standards so far. It's not that it's a bad story it just reads like an episode of Star Trek rather than a feature film. The story involved the Enterprise during the 4th year of it's mission doing a planetary survey. While scanning the surface they discover what seems to be materials that would compose the construction of a city. When Kirk and company beam down they do discover a city but one that has been devastated. By all appearances it seems like it had happened ages ago but then they discover it had recently been abandoned or the entire population relocated. Kirk wants to know why and during the investigation to learn more about the people who had lived there they find themselves being attacked by missiles of unknown origin.

I just finished a Regency Romance earlier today. That's my brain crack. I'm also just staring Wheel of Time Book 4: The Shadow Rising, and I really need to sit down and finish the last two books of the Star Trek: Vanguard series. Also most of the way through a set of steampunk short stories on my iPad. If you like steampunk, check out the Ministry of Peculiar Occurrences.

Chris - Did you save reading that one until all the books in the trilogy were released? You should enjoy the series as it's above average for Star Trek books. Not as good as David Mack's Destiny trilogy but I doubt he'll ever be able to top that series anyway. Still he is a very enjoyable writer, and has the characters and voices down pat.

Just finished an awesome book today "Bond On Bond"!! This was written by Roger Moore himself and he shares a ton of behind the scenes info about all the movies. Most of it of course about his own. There is also a ton of great pictures and the book is over 200 pages but a fast read. I had trouble setting it down. If your a Bond fan you will like this book.

Yes, I am about 3/4 of the way through. I am enjoying the first person narrative very much, I usually don't like that. Love David Mack.

I want to read that book Will. Glad you enjoyed it.

The whole work is not in the first person narrative. Like you I don't usually like stories written that way but in this case it works very well. David Mack is probably one of Trek's very best authors writing today. I used to think that Peter David's books could not be exceeded but Mack has him beat by a mile!

Read "Superman - Earth One - Vol. 1" at Barnes & Noble while everyone was at their Superbowl parties. Interesting how JMS tries to make the destruction of Krypton more believable. Great use of TV/Movie style transitioning between scenes (dialogue preceding the next scene). Nice artwork. I didn't really like the villain so much.

Is this something I should stash away in a collection? Do you think it will be worth something down the line as a limited edition type of thing?

Both of the Superman - Earth One books are really good and worth a spot in your collection. I don't know how limited they would be though.

They are awesome. I'm reading Batman:Gates of Gotham by Scott Snyder. Excellent. Big fan of Snyder's work on the New 52, my favorite book is Batman. Also has a one-shot on France's Batman, Nightrunner by Kyle Higgins, who is writing the excellent Nightwing.

I'll admit I didn't care for the Batman: Earth One. I thought the Superman: Earth One books were better.
