Having tons of glitches with Hearthfire, won't let me adopt a kid even though I have a full house with bedrooms and fully furnished.

That Skyrim child services department is tough :)

Is Dawnguard out yet?
Dawnguard was the first expansion

Yeah, it's pretty cool. You get to go back to Solstheim (expansion in Morrowind). The dragon riding is pretty lame, but otherwise a great expansion.

See I was told Mass Effect 2 was a lot better then Mass Effect, and I think Mass Effect is great. It took a while getting used to and I am not a fan of the squad based stuff, but the story is great fun and the environments and missions are a blast. That tank thing with the canon is AWESOME! I wanted to play and finish Mass Effect so I could carry my character into 2.

Playing your way through is the way to do it. Mass Effect has an awesome story.

I was in the same boat as you, I thought 1 was awesome (and it is) but the gameplay improvements they made in 2 really do improve the experience. It's just a much more enjoyable game to play.

Mass Effect 2 is slightly (and I stress slightly) controversial because it backsteps from some of the RPG mechanics they had in the original Mass Effect. The sequel's game mechanics generally feel and work differently than the first one, is the best way to describe it. BUT, that said, I feel like many of the changes were for the better and I personally think its the best of the 3 games. The majority of the game is still Mass Effect, just improved. Story is great, environments and missions are great and the conversation system is much better in the sequel.

Also, you think that Tank with the cannon was awesome? There's an even better version in the sequel. I won't say anymore. :).

Sweet! And I am not a huge RPG fan, I prefer more FPS games, so I heard 2 was more like a FPS.

Yeah, the 2nd game has a much better combat system, though the story and universe is just so much more greater than the combat itself that I always rushed through it to enjoy more of the story.

Did u need to buy DLC to get the tank in mass effect 2?

The hugest most massive disappointment about ME 3 was not being able to import my Sheppard from ME1 and 2...the choices were saved but I had to redo her face and body.  And no matter how hard I tried I couldn't get it exactly right.  Did they ever fix that bug?

Nice to have u in the gaming thread Bryan!!!

I think that was a console-only bug but I don't recall them ever fixing it. But I kind of quit paying attention to what EA does these days so my info could be out of date.

As far as that Tank, I think it was free DLC unlocked when you bought it New. So long as you did that, it would unlock, but I'd have to check. I know I didn't pay for DLC to unlock the tank though.

I got about 3/4 of the way through King's Quest 1 for my next podcast last night. Only got eaten by alligators once.

I am playing ALIENS: Colonial MArines and despite complaints from some players and graphic issues with the console version I am having a lot of fun playing on my iMac. Graphics look great, gameplay is smooth. Alien AI isn't the best but the other marines you fight are pretty clever. I have been wandering around Hadleys Hope and it's very cool to see it recreated perfectly from the film.

I had no idea you could play this on a Mac too.  That's pretty cool!

Bryancd

I am playing on Windows 7 on the partioned HD. :)

Ahh - well, then you are really playing on Windows not a Mac.
