I'm trying to. My Preorder isn't at a midnight store and the closest one is in downtown boston and one of the three major release locations in the country. I don't know if I can get it and get back to the trains in time.

Sounds like it would be fun to check out a big midnight release if they're going all out.  How much is a cab if you miss the last train?

Wow that's like three DLC packs!  Just kidding, but yeah probably too much to pay for a pre release party.  Unless of course, Jennifer Hale is there or something equally cool.

Rapidly becoming overwhelmed by Skyrim. Contemplating going back to Freecell...

EDIT: or maybe Ultima. 1.  On an 8-bit emulator for true nostalgia points.

I've been playing Castlevania: Lords of Shadow. It's the most recent game of the series. Patrick Stewart does the voice of Zobek and is the narrator. The graphics are amazing. Gabriel is voiced by Robert Carlyle. If anyone else has played this let me know. If you like games like Castlevania, you've gotta play this. The boss battles are a bit tough at times but it's worth playing. There are lots of puzzles too. It can get frustrating at times but it's also really fun.

Thought I'd revive this old thread with a new post. :)

Still playing Skyrim. I'm a level 36 Nord and I'm a werwolf. Good game if you like huge maps and somewhat open-ened RPGs on the console.

Angela and her husband Jim have talked me into playing Star Wars The Old Republic. We're on Harbinger if anyone has toons on that server. I have a level 3 Imperial Agent and a level 2 Jedi Guardian. Angela has a level 16 Bounty Hunter and about five other characters she's building up. I think I prefer playing an Imperial at this point. The quests seem more fun. I keep getting lightside points... doh. Maybe my character is a good person who's just on the wrong side of the war. :)

Fun stuff!  If you get the downloadable content for Skyrim (Dawguard I think it's called) I think you can be a Vampire Lord if you ever get tired of being a werewolf.  Cool powers like turning into mist and limited flight/teleportation.  Also supposed to be some great story involved.  Did you finish the main quest yet?  I keep meaning to get back to that game but there's so much left to do it would probably take 25 more hours to finish.  I finished the main story, the Thieves guild, Mages guild, and the Fighters guild, but still have so much left to do, like the Assassin's guild, and the whole story line that involves the two warring factions around Skyrim.  It's amazing to me how much content there is in that game.

Right now I'm playing Far Cry 3, probably 3/4 finished there, and Sleeping Dogs, also about 3/4 done.  Both on 360, both great games.

I'm currently working on all the side quests that I can before finishing the main quest. I'm trying to build up all my characters skills before I capture the dragon and kill the other one, which is what I'm suppose to do next. I finished the Mage's Guild quests (I'm now Arch Mage), I joined the Bard's Guild as well as the Fighter's Guild. I'm currently looking for some killer in "The Pale" for the fighter's guild. I have NO idea where this person is and I'm wandering around killing all the bandits I come across hoping he's among them.

BTW, maybe it's cheating but I found a dog that belongs to a Daedric Prince. I was suppose to reconcile him to his master, but I didn't finish his quest and he's still with me. Now I have two companions, my character's husband and this dog, which helps me do what I do best—ranged fighting. My bow skills are very high and I pick off the people that my tanks go after. :D  The dog is annoying as heck. He sometimes blocks my exit in small tunnels or nooks, he prevents me from sneaking, he barks too much and sometimes he picks fights with my character's husband: Belrand. The dog doesn't die and I can't make them stop fighting, so I let the boys beat each other up while I continue through a dungeon crawl or whatever I'm doing when they start fighting. After I draw agro, they come back to help. BTW, Belrand is uglier than homemade soap, I mean he'd make a freight train take a dirt road, but he's an awesome battle mage and he's very kind. He's not bad looking when he's wearing a helmet with a face guard. :D  Good old Belrand. :)

I did buy the homestead content for Skyrim. I built a nice place near a lake and Lydia is my Stewart. I have a carriage and a bard as well. You can adopt children, but I have one of those in real life that no one can replace...I don't need a virtual one. :D

Have you run across any bugs in this game? I have found that some of the missions cannot be completed. Not sure what the deal is with that. :/

Yes one of the worst bugs I encountered involved the Fighters Guild, where I got to near the end and couldn't advance any further...everything got stuck and it wouldn't give me the next quest.  After alot of research I found that it was caused by completing a random quest in a dungeon that was critical to the fighter's guild questline, and then advancing the fighter's guild questline to a certain point BEFORE the dungeon had respawned all the creatures (which happens in 30 days of in game time.)  So I had to revert to an old save before I started the Fighter's Guild questline, wait 24 hours 30 times (fun stuff, that) and then proceed to complete the Fighter's guild quests again.  I would have just said to heck with it but my character was stuck as a werewolf and the only cure is finishing that questline.

I think this has happened to me too! Did it involve a certain character that ordered you to bring him... "something".... to cure the lot of them? A scrap occurred while you were gone and you couldn't deliver the "something" because of the unfortunate result of said scrap? LOL. Sorry for the cryptic question. You can PM me if you can't answer here. :D  I also can't seem to cleans the fires at the Mage's Guild. It won't let me activate them. DANG that's frustrating.

YES that's exactly what happened to me.  It's been a long time but I'll never forget being stuck there, you get back to the guild in the city and everyone is dealing with the death of the main guy, and you never get the next quest.  You're hosed, unless you do what I did, going back to a save before you started the fighters guild questline...and depending how much you've played since you fist encountered the bug it could be alot of progress you'll lose.  If you decide to forget it, you're stuck being a werewolf and can never finish that questline.  It's a horrible bug and I cannot believe after all this time they haven't fixed it.

I also remember having the same problem with the Mages guild fires, but I think I was doing something wrong and figured it out...it's not a bug just poorly designed.  Keep trying.

AH DANG. And you know what the worst thing is about that particular Skyrim bug? I can't drop the disgusting item the deceased fighter's guild leader told me to bring him, because it's a quest item! It weighs 4lbs! Yuck! I have to look at it everytime I go through my inventory! I guess I'm destined to be a werwolf because I... am... NOT going back to an early game save. :D   I jump all over the place, with regards to quests, I don't do the quest lines all the way through. I jump around. I wouldn't know where to start or what I'd have to redo. :)  Poor Belrand (my character's husband). He's always so freaked out when I turn into a shewolf—he takes off on me. It's the only thing he's a chicken about. :D

Guess I'll just keep plodding away. Thanks for the info and the tip about the Mage's Guild.

I've mentioned this in another thread, but I ran into a HUGE bug on Mass Effect III that has prevented me from completing the game. My profile is corrupted on EA's servers, or so the gaming forums I've scanned suggest. Apparently it's a common bug. I will have to save my gamer profile to a USB stick then delete my profile from the console's hard drive. Afterward, it was suggested that I reinstall it, using the stick, and the issue will be corrected. I'm willing to try that, but I'm so worried that I'll screw up and won't be able to recover my profile from the thumb drive. I've been playing Skyrim and SWTOR instead, when I have the time to play games. But Mass Effect is my favorite series and I'm a completionist. I will eventually have to give that solution a try and risk losing all my gamer accomplishments/saves.

If you ever get Mass Effect 3 working again, your would get the most out of the story if you download the free extended ending, and the two DLC packs Leviathan and From Ashes.  From what I've read, these three DLC packs greatly enhance the overall impact and sense of closure to the story, and are best experienced as cohesive elements of the game rather than tacked on at the end.  I wish I could erase my memory of hte game and go back and play again with all that content added.

I'm pretty sure Microsoft saves your gamertag profile server side, so you can't screw up so bad that the profile is unrecoverable.  You can lose all your game saves though so make sure you don't erase your whole hard drive.
