Shatterpoint is a really cool book. Did more for the Windu character than the films ever did. Deceived is also pretty good.

Another classic this time by Poul Anderson called Time and Stars (issued 1964). It's a collection of 6 of his short stories. I've always loved Poul Anderson's work.

I have recently finished more of The New 52 graphic novels. I have really been enjoying the DC relaunch that started last year. I have been able to read most of the books I wanted either by buying them or waiting for the graphic novel which I got from the library.
Batman The Dark Knight - Vol. 1 Knight Terrors - 9. Probably my favorite Batman book of the new 52.
Superboy - Vol. 1 Incubation - 9. I really liked this and its the only Super book I don't get.
Batman Detective Comics - Vol. 1 Faces of Death - 7. I bought the first few issues of this when it came out and I didn't like it enough to keep buying it so I got this to see what happened.

Finished Captain America: Bicentennial Battles and Peter Parker Spiderman: Back in Black. Both of those were not to bad.
Captain America - 6. Stories from the mid 70's. No cussing in this but It was funny to see what they would yell out in place of a colorful metaphor.
Spiderman - 7. Didn't enjoy the Black in Black stories as much as I have some others I have been reading.
Now I'm reading Batman: Death by Design and Arnold Schwarzenegger: Total Recall - My Unbelievably True Life Story. This book is 618 pages! With index included its 646. So far its been very interesting.

I'm back into the Captain's Table Trek stories (alongside some classic Conan Doyle). I bought these as ebooks years ago, well before ebooks really existed, and haven't read them in ages.

I'm not sure what comes after that. It will probably be into the follow up series to the Lost Fleet books that Joe put me on to. It's far to easy to buy books on a Kindle.

I know it's unnusual here but I don't have a podcast of my own.

I just finished the GIANT Star Trek graphic novel "Debt of Honor" from 1992 that Will recommended on our Trek Comic podcast, really well done. Just started reading "The Holy Road" by Michael Blake, which is the sequel to his novel "Dances with Wolves". I read the book before I ever saw the movie but I never knew a sequel came out a few years ago.

Wow I never really knew anything about the book version of DWW.  I'll have to read both now!

The book was written from the screenplay that Michael Blake wrote but couldn't get made. Kevin Costner advised him to put it out as a novel and then he scooped up the movie rights immediately. So, it was meant to be a movie, but came out as a paperback about 3 years before the movie and did well enough for them to get some funding for the movie.

Back when Kevin Costner was cool!  One of my favorites of his movies.  I love Graham Greene too, he's great.  Thunderheart!

I am reading a compendium of all the ACD Sherlock Holmes stories at the moment (some I've never read) so when I feel like a break I'll check out those.

I picked up the bluray of Dances about a month ago, it really is a wonderful movie. Something to be said for doing most stuff in camera. Some shots still blow me away, 22 years later. There's been rumors of making "Holy Road" into  a movie as well, with Viggo Mortensen as Dunbar, apparently he was close to playing him in the 1990 movie.

I read a Holmes omnibus a while ago. Those are fun stories, some very iconic.

One of my all time favorite Trek Graphic novels, Chris.
I need to get into some Sherlock Holmes stories also. I have one here but just never read it yet.
I also finished Batman: Death By Design. Very good book and all the art was done in black and white. Worth a look if your a comic fan and certainly if your a Batman fan.

Classic sci-fi is my thing lately as it's just so much fun. Not the greatest high prose in the world but a step above comics, which I no longer read. This is a collection of short stories by Murray Leinster who was one of early sci-fi's greatest authors. Maybe not as well known as Heinlein and Bradbury but in sci-fi circles he was well-known and respected. This collection is called "Monsters and Such". I would say that of the stories I have read so far the monsters of the title are aliens and how humans deal with them. A common theme seems to be that aliens need to be destroyed because if we don't destroy them they will ultimately destroy us. I have found the stories I have read so far to be rather entertaining and creative. Maybe along the lines of the Twilight Zone, Alfred Hitchcock or Outer Limits TV shows. Here is the cover:

Just finished Green Arrow - Salvation. It was part of the Brightest Day story. It wasn't too bad. I give it a rating of 7. Now to finish the Arnold bio.

Recently finished two graphic novels from the library and enjoyed them both.
A vs X - 8. Very good. I lucked out and got the $75 book they released that included all 12 issues of A vs X and the 6 part AVX vrs series that showed one on one fights between the different heroes. It had a total of 22 issues and was quite heavy. Not one to fall asleep reading because it would probably break your nose!
Birds of Prey - Vol. 1 Trouble in Mind. - 8. I enjoyed this more than I thought I would. Very good story and art. I will be checking out Vol. 2 when it comes out.
