That's my problem. I run with my iPhone strapped to my arm and I do tend to sweat quite a bit. My iPhone 4 is still holding up well after 2 years but I'm pretty sure I brought my 3G to an early grave because of that.

That'll be why mine still works then :)

I know it's unnusual here but I don't have a podcast of my own.

Well I've written a few times here about the problems I've had with the jacks where you plug in the headphones on my iPods/iPhones.  I've had them fail multiple times ever since my first iPod back in the day.  I've researched the issue and found that it's a widespread problem, so much so that there are do it yourself fixes posted online as well as tons of private repair shops set up that will fix the issue for you or mail you repair kits for a price.  In any case, my current 3GS is the first I-device I've had that hasn't experienced this issue (short and sweet for new or forgetful readers, what happens is that the jack either gets loose or a bent/broken pin connection that causes the sound to intermittently cut out or only come out of one side of the headphones.)  This current 3GS is a replacement for my original, which was replaced under warranty for the problem I describe.  I've also had the same problem with all my iPods (two classics and a touch).  I'll never purchase another Apple product without Apple-Care again, and I HATE buying warranties.

Here's a great in-depth review of the iPhone5 from CNet...makes me appreciate what they did with it:

QuoteThe good: The iPhone 5 adds everything we wanted in the iPhone 4S: 4G LTE, a longer, larger screen, and a faster A6 processor. Plus, its top-to-bottom redesign is sharp, slim, and feather-light.
The bad: Sprint and Verizon models can't use voice and data simultaneously. The smaller connector renders current accessories unusable without an adapter. There's no NFC, and the screen size pales in comparison to jumbo Android models.
The bottom line: The iPhone 5 completely rebuilds the iPhone on a framework of new features and design, addressing its major previous shortcomings. It's absolutely the best iPhone to date, and it easily secures its place in the top tier of the smartphone universe.

they just had the CNET guy and the actual phone on CNBC. It looked really cool, everyone was commenting how light it was.

I'm a little confused by the 4G LTE capability.  I understand its a much faster network than the one I currently use with my 3GS.  If I upgrade to the new phone, do I automatically start using the LTE network (my carrier has 4G LTE coverage in my area) or do I have to make changes to my data plan?  I am very excited to be able to stream video from my phone (Xfinity, Netflix, You Tube, etc) as it is reported than all these apps perform much better on the 4G LTE network.  They're basically unusable on my current device.  But I and my wife currently still have the AT&T "grandfathered" unlimited data plan and would hate to lose that because there's no way to get it back.  I wonder if accessing the LTE network means I have to finally switch to a capped data plan.

I believe you have to modify your plan to add LTE data. The phone still works on 3G though.

This will be hard, Catherine will have one and I have to be patient!  AHAHAHAH!  Tech envy.  hahaha.  Can't wait to see this thing in action.

That's exactly my situation Rick.  I might even be waiting out in line tomorrow night...for my wife!

You do not have to modify your plan to use LTE....in fact my plan went down $30 per month between both smartphones we have. They removed the unlimited data but then they added unlimited calling to any phone in the US and unlimited Texts and took off $30.

That's encouraging.  I'm not allowed to make any adjustments to my plan at all or I lose unlimited data.  I want to keep that at all costs so I don't have to worry about caps for streaming, which I believe I'll use alot if LTE is as good as advertised.

I'm most excited about 16:9 aspect ratio for video using the whole screen without black bars.  Man how I wish they incorporated this into the iPad

The black bars you lose because the screen will have the correct aspect ratio you will gain
on the apps of slow to react developers. I can see some of the less popular apps that haven't had an update in a while not updating. I guess those apps will lose whatever user base they have left if that is the case.

Jobydrone

I'm sure most devs (who still want to sell their apps) are scrambling to update as we speak.
