I like my £10 per month for keeping my 4 now that it's paid for. I was paying £35+ for the two contracted years. Having just moved house, a £25 per month saving is quite useful.

I did suddenly get tempted by a 5 this afternoon but the new dock connector was enough to dissuade me.

I know it's unnusual here but I don't have a podcast of my own.

Wireless syncing has worked great for me so far until I tried to sync wirelessly through an app (Comic Zeal) which crashed every time.  It's been smooth for podcasts, music and movies so far

It may sound daft but the fact that the 5 is sightly bigger had put me off a bit only because i don't really like wearing jackets so i have my phone in my jeans pocket and the last thing i want is a bigger phone (i'm not saying anything about Spinal Tap moment lol)

I miss how cheap mobile phone contracts were in the UK.  That and Internet in general seems to be about the only things that are more expensive in the USA.

Catherine ordered her iPhone 5 today, she is thrilled beyond belief.  Supposed to be here at the house by Sept 21st.  We shall see!

I have been and always will be, your friend.

2 million iPhone 5's preordered within the first 24 hours. Astounding.

Yeah, well, let's just hope THIS version doesn't crap out in a year like ALL the others. Remember, I LOVE Apple products but the iPhone...not so much. Had two (3G and the 4) and both began crashing, etc right around the 1 year mark. So, I'm NOT buying the 5. Don't think it's worth the money for me.

It might be a design decision. I don't think they are expecting most people to keep the phones for a while.

I certainly think functional failure after 18 months is actually built into iPods. :)

Just getting into year 3 with my 4. The Home button has suffered a bit but other than that, it's as good as the day I bought it, no crashing etc.

Jamie has had her 4 for almost 2 years now, no problems either. Tech. can be hit or miss sometimes.

Tech hardware really isn't hit or miss - it either works or it doesn't.  Now, the OS and software is a different story.  Everyone uses their devices a bit differently and puts different things on them, etc.  A constant crashing problem I suppose could be an issue with the flash memory, but I kind of doubt that happens very often.  I would expect it's more what is running on the device.  What is the standard warranty on an iPhone?  One year?  Can't you get more protection with Apple care?

P.S.  Oh, my classic iPod has been running great for many years now.

Yeah, I meant the Nano's I use, but then again I kill Nano's quickly beuase I sweat all over them. :)

That's my problem. I run with my iPhone strapped to my arm and I do tend to sweat quite a bit. My iPhone 4 is still holding up well after 2 years but I'm pretty sure I brought my 3G to an early grave because of that.

Ah...right. That's GOT to be my problem with my iPhones...wait. Never mind. I don't run! :)
