Yes, I'm aware of those devices and options.  Some are even making their way into cars.  But, I still think battery life is a weak component currently, especially given the additional functions these devices have to perform.  And also considering you can't even get at the battery in Apple hardware.
I think that's intentional to sway the owner into a two year upgrade cycle.

Rico

Yes.  Industry calls that "planned obsolescence."

I'm sure Apple will release patches to patch up the battery issues, but just keep in mind that a lot more applications are drawing power to attach to the web.  If you don't need them, disable them in the iCloud settings in the Settings app.  notes, reminders, all of them draw energy probably.

I cannot figure out why, ever since I upgraded my iPad to iOS 5 that I now have to log in every time I visit this site.  My cookie settings are on and I don't have private browsing on or anything. It's really messing with my head.

Well after your upgrade your cookies would have been wiped and the forums don't default your login to "forever" anymore. You actually have to go to the login screen and select it. If you just log in via the little form up top then it'll time you out after awhile.

That fixed it thanks Joe!

Of course if you use other browsers like iCab, the cookies are still there.  :)

I'm pretty happy with the enhancements to the mobile safari browser.  I tried that Dolphin thing and didn't see the point.  I think when you tweaked the forums recently that "log in forever" check box went to a different page, which was exactly what my problem was.

Ever since I updated my iPod touch, I've noticed that audio is behaving oddly.  It's skipping at times, or just stopping, or it sounds like CDs do when there's a scratch.  It's very weird.  And only seems to happen with podcasts, that I've noticed.  Anyone else experiencing this?

billybob476

Yeah I've experienced this as well.

On your iPhone?  iPad??

iPhone using Instacast. the audio stutters once or twice then it's fine. Seems like the cpu is maxing out or something. It's only happened to me twice but I've noticed. It shouldn't happen on the iPad since it has more RAM and a faster clock speed then even the 4S.

Happening to me on the iPod Touch.  Using the regular "music" interface.  :/

Yep I've had this on Instacast. I've found the last couple of updates pretty buggy on this app, the skipping, static and also caching problems. I've actually just switched to another podcasting app called Pocket Casts thanks to Mike (Feathers) recommendation. It is a superb app with a great development team and regular updates. They interact with customers on twitter and are cool guys.
