Since I use my PC all the time and every day, I find just plugging in my iPad and having it sync there is still just fine for me.

ricdude

so I should wait for you guys to finish flushing out the bugs to update from ios3? ;)

Feathers

3? Wow, the change will be quite dramatic from that baseline!

I know it's unnusual here but I don't have a podcast of my own.

MARKO

I think the main benefit of wifi sync is for podcasts. If you have a charging dock away from your PC it is a handy way to get your iTunes podcasts updated.

Of course I haven't used iTunes for podcasts in a LONG time for the very reason you needed to connect to the PC every time. I'm still going to continue to use Instacast.

Yep loving iMessage. I have the feeling the carriers are going to have to rethink iPhone text packages!

iMessage is great!  Especially now that I can text with my son, who has a Touch.  But the carriers are pretty safe until such point that Apple opens up iMessage so that non-Apple devices/computers can hook into it (e.g. an Android app).  Until I can send a text message to someone who doesn't have an iDevice, then I will need an SMS service.

Granted I might no longer need an unlimited SMS plan, but it will take a good month to really see how much less I am using SMS now that iMessage is here.

Have you noticed that if you ask Siri for directions, you could get three different routes displayed within Google Maps app?  That is very cool!  Wish you could get that without using Siri...

Rico

Anyone having trouble with the Remote App on their iPad.  This is what used to be able to let me control iTunes on my PC from my iPad.  Can't seem to find my library there anymore.  Ideas??

Hey Rick P. your still using Appigo's Todo app right?  Is it lagging and bugging up on you on your 4S?

Rick - can you dictate a text iMessage via Siri?

I'm pretty sure maps the apple maps program was updated to give different routes even if you don't use Siri.  I havent used it yet since updating but I remember reading that was one of the new changes.

Yeah, what you said, the maps program was updated to allow multiple routes.

Using both Podcaster and Pocket Casts now. Don't ask me why I bought two... Either way, iTunes and podcasts are really distant history for me now.

On the main topic, I seem to now be giving iOS5 classes around the office this morning. I'm not sure what makes me the expert but it's always good fun to appear to be the expert :D

I'm still finding for my particular use with only having the iPad that most of these changes and updates are things I don't really use or need.  I sync by plugging into my PC, I've never used IM messaging much, etc.  Even iCloud seems to just be more of a backup service than anything else.  I think for devices more on the go, like the iPhone some of these things are more useful.

Dangelus

Having a 3GS a downside  I have noticed is a slight slowdown overall but I suppose that is to be expected. This obviously isn't an issue for my iPad 2 :)

The wifi syncing and even iCloud are a little gimmicky at the moment for me. Has the iTunes Match service started for you guys over there yet? Now that is a useful service in the terms of all this backup stuff.

I'm really loving iMessage and it has virtually replace Twitter DMs for overseas friends especially.

The other essential change for me is the new notification system which is superb.
