Yep loving iMessage. I have the feeling the carriers are going to have to rethink iPhone text packages!

Apparently Apple has a sense of humour:

http://www.idownloadblog.com/2011/10/14/siri-seriously-just-say-that/

QuoteApple's newest artificial intelligence technology is called Siri. Originally based off the Siri Assistant app in the App Store, Apple uses its own secret sauce and Naunce's backend to create a super intelligent assistant for iPhone 4S users.

What you may not know about Siri is that it has an attitude and a sense of humor. Here's some of the crazy things that Siri says...

This is my next's Joshua Topolsky published a truckload of Siri conversations he had with his iPhone 4S review unit.

Some of the items on the place linked from there are really rather funny. All I'll say is that you can tell Software Engineers were involved in this (yes I know it's obvious since it's sotyware but engineers don't always get free reign with their humour).

I know it's unnusual here but I don't have a podcast of my own.

As in make them more expensive =/. I'm not looking forward to their reaction as they find people dropping their plans.  I would quit my text plan if I could move my family to IM or iMessage, they are now the only ones who text me regularly.

It's a small thing but the new Safari build will scroll things like images (or the Subspace Messages box) with one finger where it took two with iOS 4.

Ok, so, not sure what's going on, maybe someone can help. I had a mobile me mail account on my iPad (alkessel@me.com). With the new iCloud, that changed to an iCloud mail account. Now, I can't send any mail from the email. I get a weird error: No password provided for "SMTP:alkessel@smtp.me.com", but, I do...

I have like 25 Apps to update on my iPad.  :)

Ok, question: I thought that you couldn't Wi-Fi sync with iTunes unless the device was plugged in to power? My iPad just synced with iTunes. It's in the bag, in the living room no where near a power outlet!!?

Did you plug it in at any time and then unplug it?  Did you hit the sync button on iTunes?

Try logging out and in from your iCloud account.  Though you may have to talk with Apple on that.

Didn't plug it in tonight, no. And shouldn't matter if I hit the sync button, the iPad wasn't plugged into power and unless I don't understand Apple's instructions, it won't sync unless it's powered.

Apple's wording is a bit weird.  What it actually means:

Wireless iTunes sync will not AUTOMATICALLY happen unless plugged in and connected to the right wifi connection (that has your computer on it).

Otherwise, if you hit the sync button on your iOS device (in the settings app) or iTunes, it will sync regardless of whether it's plugged in or not.

iCloud:
iCloud will not backup automatically to the cloud unless plugged in, locked and connected to wifi.  Otherwise, you have to tell it to via the settings app.

All other iCloud services (mail, contacts, photo stream, etc) happen automatically, Wifi connected OFC.

Tldr: Apple does automatic when charging, but you can still do it manually, even without charging.

I think we will see a 5.01 update pretty soon. Lots of little teething troubles, more than I remember for any iOS OS upgrade. It's understandable as some pretty big changes have come in.

My wife's iPhone ended up with one of my apps on it. I only noticed when I updated her apps and one failed. I retried and it popped up asking me to log into MY iTunes account! Weird...
