That's what I call an awesome way to train! :)

Just saw a story on CNBC regarding Transformers and how the film industry is watching it's box office very closely as a referendum on the future of 3D releases. It cost an additional $30 million to film the movie in 3D and Michael Bay has been aggressively lobbying both fans to go see the 3D release and also theater owners to use brighter bulbs in the projectors to mitigate the "darkness" of recent 3D releases. Car 2 3D box office only accounted for 37% of total revenue so far. So vote with your ticket! I want to see this one in 3D, it's been the only release this year I felt it would be worth it.

"Vote with your ticket."  I always try to.  2-D baby!

Just got back from the 3d showing and it was 100% worth it. It was a solid film and you got your money's worth. Also it did some eye opening on the difference between shot for 3D and converted. When you watch trailers of converted films, you only see one or two points of dimension. When it's things like Avatar and transformers, you get the whole depth of vision that I love about 3D. The aerial scenes were totally amazing in 3D and the style adjustments that Bey had to make for 3D filming made the film play cleaner.

So, good movie and even if you think the 2D version is just fine, remember that it was shot for 3D and works for 2D because of the rules of filming.

Didn't get to this yet due to work and movie show times not working out for matinee prices. Going to 3D on Sat!!

This one actually felt way more serious than the last one and I loved it.  Saw it in 2-D.  Go see this for a good old popcorn action flick!  :)

Here is an incredibly funny spoiler-filled review (that part I include below is spoiler-free):

QuoteBack in 2009, I had a movie-going experience that changed my life. That movie was Transformers 2: Revenge of the Fallen, and it was so awful that I was forced to write a lengthy diatribe about its myriad plot holes and utter wretchedness, which I did in FAQ form. This Transformers 2 FAQ helped put Topless Robot on the internet map, and I daresay a lot of you guys are here because someone passed you that article, and you liked it enough to stick around. So it's with great pleasure and mild trepidation that I present Topless Robot's Transformers 3 FAQ!

Is it as bad as Transformers 2?
No. Not even close.

Really? Does that mean it's good?
No. Not even close. But it's not a wretched cinematic atrocity against man and god, so I consider that an improvement.

Well, before we get into the plot, can you sum up your feelings on the film for people who don't want to be spoiled?
Yes I can. I've seen a lot of reviews that compare the movie to Michael Bay dangling his keys in front of the audience's face, as if they were babies that were easily distracted by shiny objects, but that's not strictly accurate. Imagine Michael Bay staring at you and pulling out his keys once every 10 minutes for 10 to 15 seconds. After an hour and a half, he pulls out his keys and leaves them out for an entire hour. Also, the keys are now exploding.

...so is the movie worth seeing?
Depends on how much you like keys.

The (spoiler-filled) FAQ continues after the jump!

So I guess I'm one of the VERY FEW in the world who thought Transformers 2 wasn't bad. I liked it. So, just out of curiosity, what in the world was so bad about it that most people have to bash it so?
