Awesome, boy does that bring back memories.  Thanks for taking the time to do that.

Dr. Susan McCallister Tell me Mr. Franklin, have you ever known anyone with Alzheimer's?
Russell Franklin: Well, no.
Dr. Susan McCallister: By the end all my father could do was ask why my mother wasn't at home, and each time I told him she was dead I had to watch him take that loss like a car wreck. 200,000 men and women develop Alzheimer's each year! What if you could end all that suffering with a single pill? Give me till Monday morning, 48 hours. I'll give you results that'll skyrocket your stock price or I'll help you pack the lab myself. It's your call.

Rise of the Planet of the Apes - 2011?
- no
Deep Blue Sea - 1999
Featuring super smart CGI Sharks!

- uh oh

There are definite similarities, but I wouldn't get worried yet.  Deep Blue Sea was sort of a "one-off", while the Apes film has a huge built-in fan base.  I think the producers of Apes will feel a lot more pressure to get it right.  :)

No Problem, Joby. Sorry for the spoiler.  ;D

I remember watching Planet of the Apes in it's fist airing on network TV back in the early 70's and have been hooked ever since.  I even remember watching the TV series. (Short lived as it was).

I trick or Treated for several years with my planet of the apes mask.

I personally thought the Burton remake of fair, but I didn't really think it came close to capturing the greatness of the original.

I hope we get more than just a little ape talk, since talking apes is one of the elements that makes POTA great.  The trailers do look amazing though.

I love the Simpson's spoof of the apes.  (Singing apes) is classic.

Hey Rico, will we get a Planet of the Apes podcast sometime?
A fruitful journey to the Divine Treasury.

Rico

An Apes podcast is a good idea.  I'll try and work one in sometime maybe over the summer.
