my 3gs contract will be up in Aug. I prob will get the Iphone 5 (4s) when it comes out, I just hope I can keep my unlimited data plan and still get the subsidized new contract price.

You can get grandfathered in, you just can't get tethering and unlimited data at the same time.  And as far as I'm aware, you should get a subsidized price.  :)

1. Most likely not, the pricing is fairly stable. Will you get "more" for your money (more storage, better hardware), sure.

2. An unobtrusive case will solve any signal attenuation issues you may experience. Personally I never experienced it even purposefully trying to kill the signal.

Short of 2nd hand, no.  They will only bring it down in price when the next gen comes out.  Like they did with the 3GS. 

As for the signal thing, it is overblown.  Very few iPhone's actually suffered from the problem.  And it's easily fixed with a case if you actually find a problem with that.  I have more problems with buildings with metal roofing than the squeeze-of-death ;)

Another possible look at the iPhone 5 (or 4s - or whatever they end up calling it).  Wider screen maybe, and maybe a flash for the camera too.

Yeah, looks like the side bezel is basically eliminated. The iPhone 4 already has an LED flash fro the back camera, it looks like it's moved here. interesting mockup.

But the leaked iPad 2 cases were correct.  Didn't know it had a flash already.  The article seemed to be making something out of that point.  Maybe because they moved the flash.  A camera flash should always be away from the camera lens.

idk, it's too soon to tell.  Yeah, iPad cases were right, but it wasn't hard to figure out that the next gen iPad would have cameras.  FaceTime and all that. 

Yes, flash is on the iPhone 4 and it is pretty close to the lens.
