Personally, I don't read too much into other projects on the go. The whole time Red Dwarf Back To Earth was filmed, Craig Charles was also filming for his regular soap character role in Coronation Street which runs at 4 nights a week. (I think)

If it is arranged beforehand, the studios should be able to work together reasonably well.

Ah well Karen has just been on the Paul O'grady show and she starts recording the Shrimpton bio on Sunday and as its a one off drama for the excellent BBC 4 that will take a minimum of six weeks shooting so nothing to wqorry about there.

Another great episode, not taxiing on the brain and with only a couple of references to the story arc. Hugh Bonnerville Was excellent.
Great stuff :)

This, for me, was enjoyable. But not great. It seemed to be a deliberate attempt to target the younger viewers, which is something I think we needed. My kids certainly seemed to enjoy it more than the first 2 episodes.

Anything that occurred which made me think "meh!" can be justified with the line "well, it is a family show"

One question though....
What happened to the pirate that was barricaded in with Amy, Rory and Toby. One minute he was there and then he seemed to be forgotten about and absent. It was the pirate played by the same guy who was Libbie's Dad recently in Eastenders and played Dodger (I think that was the character name) in Our House back in the 80's

I'm starting to think there are many inconsistancies in this series so far. And with the flashes of the one eyed woman, I don't think this is a valid reality. Could it all be in Amy's head. Is she trapped in some kind of delusional state in an asylum somewhere?
Hmm yeah I thought that, also that woman's gonna get irritating lol

Just discovered I have BBC America in HD too!  So, tonight I get to see it on my big screen in nice 1080!  Woo-hoo!!!

Had to work last night so wasn't home in time when it started so will catch it later today after doing some things with Mom. Looked like a good one from the preview.

I enjoyed this week's episode a lot.  Nice change of pace and not as intense as the last couple of shows.  I liked the reason behind it all too.  Also loved being able to finally watch it in real HD on my big screen.  Commercial breaks were not too bad and it didn't seem like anything got cut.  Next week's look episode looks very interesting.

I was camping all weekend and just got back and watched it.  I'm not sold on this episode.  I think the trailer for the next episode was the best part of this weeks show.

I wasn't too keen on the pirates episode.  I have been watching the show for almost 40 years (am I really that old!), but I find myself not too impressed with the new season at the moment.  Dare I say that I was more interested when Russel T. Davis was producing the show!

I hope my opinion changes soon!   :dalek

I'm with you on that.  I like stories that have a beginning, middle, and end.  I like the RTD arc better than the Moffat arc.  Moffat is drawing things out way to far and I'm to the point of losing interest.

Wow, I really enjoyed tonight's episode 'The Doctor's Wife!'

ori-STUDFARM

The Doctors Wife has to go in as one of my all time favourites. What a show.

I do think though, that
the theme of Rory dying yet again. And again waiting around for hundreds of years for Amy is not coincidental and must be part of the ongoing story arc regarding eye patch woman. I think all of this is happening inside Amy's head!
Incidently, did you know that eye patch woman is played by the same actress who played the human version of the Polymorph in Red Dwarf, Genny Mutant?

Pyrovile

I think this has to be the best episode of Doctor Who ever.
