Cook is presenting to the annual shareholder meeting right now. Steve isn't there. It's awful to say, but we in the investment community are evaluating Apple as a post Steve Jobs company at this point. I don't think he is coming back and that's what I have advised my clients.

:(  That really sucks, I'm glad he's still participating, but I respected Jobs for being the type of CEO who stood his own ground and if you were with him great, if you weren't he didn't care.  I truly hope Apple's Tim Cook is up to the task, he has a lot of eyes on him right now. 

In other news, is this thing going to be streamed over the internet like the last one was?  If so, I'd be willing to host an "Apple event" on Skype for those of us who aren't working at the time (yay me!)

Here's a mockup pic of what the new iPad 2 may look like based on the cases that have been seen.  Clearly visible is the larger/grilled speaker area, SD card slot, camera, etc.  It's also much thinner than the current iPad (about half).  So, the weight should be significantly less.  Looks pretty slick!   :love

Since the Mac Book Pro lineup was refreshed earlier today (which are very nice upgrades btw) (head over to apple.com to check em out) its looking like that event will be about the iPad 2.  Its way too early for the iPhone/iPods and iTunes has never needed an event (except for that "event" about the one famous music group...;)) 

But I agree, if the iPad is looking that slim, its very very nice indeed :)

MobileMe is no longer being sold in stores and the paid-for version is no longer available on Apple.com.  This is adding fuel to the fire of MobileMe going free and iTunes over the cloud coming.  (Personally think we'll just see a free MobileMe, but we'll see).  Probably going to announce this at the event next week.  In either case, MobileMe is probably going to be radically changed since its basically been a "meh" product from Apple.

I still haven't found out if Apple is streaming this event like last time or not.  Has anyone else?  

Either way, I'm still holding the "Event" over Skype at 10am PST if anyone is interested (6pm EU time) so all you need is access to Skype and a willingness to talk technology for a while, which shouldn't be hard ;).  This is open to both TSF and Anomaly members.  Just leave a post here or ping me on Skype "kingisaaclinksr". 

Non-Apple fans can join too, but if you berate our tech during the entire call we reserve the right to do it back to you, so you've been warned :P.  

I know its an inconvenient time too, but if you can join, great!

Well, I just meant in the official capacity that Apple did in their October event and one prior.  Haven't seen anything so maybe/maybe not.

One of the more recent iPad 2 rumors - getting it in white!  Again, just a rumor based on this picture floating around in cyberspace.  I would prefer a black bezel if I got one, but some might like white.
