Bryan, it's been much longer than that with iPad 2 talk, dates, predictions. A March-ish announcement with an Easter-ish release for iPad 2 has been talked about for awhile now. That plus several major sources saying the iPad 2 has been in production now for awhile too. As I like to say - "Rumors are just premature facts." ;)

It will be very interesting to see a big Apple event without Jedi Master Jobs using the Force on the Apple fanboys. "You don't need to eat this month - you need to buy an iPad 2." :roflmao

I have a feeling his presence will be felt. He may have transferred the reality distortion field to whoever is going to be presenting.

I would guess it will be his Padawan, Tim Cook that will speak at the event. Let's hope he has taken his Jedi trials by March 2nd. ;)

Cook is presenting to the annual shareholder meeting right now. Steve isn't there. It's awful to say, but we in the investment community are evaluating Apple as a post Steve Jobs company at this point. I don't think he is coming back and that's what I have advised my clients.

:( That really sucks, I'm glad he's still participating, but I respected Jobs for being the type of CEO who stood his own ground and if you were with him great, if you weren't he didn't care. I truly hope Apple's Tim Cook is up to the task, he has a lot of eyes on him right now.

In other news, is this thing going to be streamed over the internet like the last one was? If so, I'd be willing to host an "Apple event" on Skype for those of us who aren't working at the time (yay me!)
