Hey Guys, just a quick rec. Anyone who is into gaming and has been for awhile might enjoy this podcast I found. Its called Retronauts and I found it through itunes. Its great for reminicsing and brings back many happy memories of gaming with my pals. If yu enjoyed the SNES, Saturn or first Playstation, I'm sure you will enjoy this. Does anyone have any more podcasts to recommend?
Hi Trekkygeek! Try Gaming Steveâ€"He's top notch. Unfortunately he's been on hiatus since October. I'm not sure if he's coming back or not. He works in the gaming industry, so I'm sure he just got busy with real world stuff. But there are quite a few archived episodes you can still download through iTunes. He does a retro review as well as reviews on newer games. They are VERY informative. I've tried several games that he recommended and have enjoyed them all.
The P.C. Gamer Podcast is also very good. 'Star Wars Galaxies with Yivvits and Mr. Bubble' is also entertaining, but its a Star Wars Galaxies podcast. I don't play the game but still find them hilarious.
Hope that helps...thanks for the recommendation. I'll have to check Retronauts out. :)
Well... I know this husband wife pair that does a pretty good podcast on being a gaming couple and a couple who plays WoW together. The podcast actually would be linked over there on the left as "my website". ::)
As for others, can anyone recommend a podcast in the stylings of John Stewart or other political humor/ satire?
Mr. O
My regular podcast playlist:
Extralife Radio (silly fun)
The Instance (WOW)
Jawbone Radio (fun husband/wife show)
TWIT (computer related tech, etc.)
Comicology (comics)
PC Gamer
BSG Commentary (Ron Moore's take on BSG episodes)
Slice of Sci-Fi
There are others I listen to off/on - but the ones above are my weekly regular list. I'll have to check your WOW show out soon too Mr. O.
Hey, speaking of ExtraLife, what happened to that one guy, the one in FL? He bailed. I figure he had his own podcast he wanted to concentrate on, but besides a quick mention at the start of last weeks show, the ELR guys barley mentioned it.
The short version is Scott and Andrew (FL guy) had a little bit of a falling out. They worked things out now and Andrew might be back sometime. He is back on the Warcraft show they do called The Instance. I don't think Scott wanted to give it a lot of talk on the show. Especially since it's all kind of settled now.
Galactica Watercooler is a fun podcast. It's three BSG fans discussing the previous episodes. There are no spoilers for upcoming episodes.
One more game podcast: The Video Games Show
Here are some none gaming podcasts:
Home Town Tales
Griddlecakes Radio
Requiem of the Outcast
The Force-Cast
Galactica Actual
The Combat Information Center

I listen to this one too. I like it, it's pretty free form and random but it works ok for me.
Seems like they like to shoot down what the girl says quite a bit, though.

Mr. O
I'm dl this now, I'll check it out tomorrow. I play with my wife and daughter, although we are on a bit of a downswing at the moment. We are burned out a bit.
One podcast I like that I don't see listed above is ESPN: PTI. If you like sports you may enjoy this. It's a couple of guys talking about the current sports scene.
Some may have a hard time with Tony Kornheiser or maybe even the other guy, as they are perhaps a bit obnoxious. But that's part of the fun.
I added Galactica Watercooler to my list. It's pretty cool, and a nice chat on the topic. Will have to give Galactica Actual a listen at some points and I do need to check out The Instance to see how that goes. RIght now I've got The Weekly Murloc on my list and they said something about "that other weekly WoW podcast" so I'm now even more curious about it.
Mr. O
Hey O
I listened to your podcast today. It was good! Your wife is really good on it. She is a natural.
I got my wife to play WoW by starting her on Toontown, if you can believe that. We have two small children and I had two accounts so I could play with my daughter, and it came from that.
Anyway I hope you have lots of success with your podcast, I think you have a bit of a niche there.
I'm surprised you haven't listened to The Instance before. It's one of the very first ones. It's in a bit of a transition state, as Randy has joined and Andrew hasn't quite been himself in a while.
There are a few more WoW podcasts out there, I used to keep up with all of them but now I just listen to Taverncast, The Instance, and sometimes Murloc.
I like the Murloc because it is nice and clean, I can let my daughter listen to it.

I hadn't noticed that. I think she's a little goofier at times, but I never thought her comments were treated any differently than the guys'. (Now I'll be listening for that.)

Is this different than their TV show. I watch that every day. I love PTI.

Oh man I'm really quite sad to hear that. I thought he was the best thing about the podcast. Everyone says that O was th main draw, but I preferred Andrews humour. I really hope that he returns soon. I am only upto show 111 but Extralfe along with Treks in Sci Fi are my favourites.

No, it's the exact same show, they put it up a few hours after the broadcast the same day.

Yeah, I'll miss Andrew there as well. I'm glad he's back on The Instance (and back with his gf, that's very good news) and wish he was on ELR.

Hi Jedijeff...sounds like we listen to some of the same Star Wars podcasts. Have you tried Vadercast yet? They started out really wonky but their sound quality is much better and they're getting more organized. They've mentioned on the show that right now, there's one listener in Arizona and myself who care to interact with their show. They sure could use some more listeners. Anyone wanting to try them...just give their latest show a listen.
I have the Vader Cast in my podcast feed, but for some reason they will not play on my iPod. I thought that maybe one epsiode was corrupt, but all the ones I downloaded were the same thing. I thought it was the bug with the iPods a while back with podcasts, and changed the settings, but still didnt help. I will investigate it a little bit more to see if I can figure out why it happens. I might need to try downloading directly from their site possibly and then copying onto my ipod. From reading the descriptions on their shows, sounds really good.
These are the Podcasts on my ipod:
Treks in Sci-Fi
Extralife - My favourite along with Ricos
Geekson - Love this one, thanks to Jen
Retronauts - A podcast for all you old video console fans
Astronomy Cast - Astronomy is another love of mine
Gaming Steve - Not listened to yet, but recommended by Jen
Make it so - A British Star Trek Podcast
Movies You Should See - A podcast on recommended movies by the above people
Or do you think its just bo****ks - A rant podcast from one of the chaps above
Mysterious Universe - A podcast about all things weird, alien and cryptozoology
Science at Nasa - another Astronomy podcast
Star Trek The section 31 files - Soon to finish
Strange Days Indeed - Another one of my favourites. A Podcast on UFO sightings
T.W.I.T. - Just catching up on this. Pretty good but very tech heavy
Whats Up In Astronomy - Yet another Astronomy podcast
My taste is fairly eclectic and these podcasts keep me company while I am driving in my van all day, and to think it all started with Treks in Sci-Fi. ;)

Your welcome. We're planning to have a segment on our own podcast where we recommend and maybe interview other podcasts. I always like trying new shows and it helps to find out from people with similar interests which ones are good...there are so many that are one show wonders. Hopefully we won't be one of those. :lol2
My list of regulars, all are available through ITunes except RetroGaming Radio.
1up Yours (videogame chatter)
Retronauts (classic videogame topics)
Chatterbox Videogame Radio (more videogame chatter)
DS Dual Screen Radio (Shane R. Monroe's podcast all about the Nintendo DS)
DS Life (another DS podcast...might be deleting this one soon as I dont really likeit)
Ebert and Roeper (audio feed of the weekly TV show but it hasnt updated since December)
Extralife Radio
Gaming Steve (great videogame cast but hasnt had a show for a long time)
Geeks On (recommended here orginally, love it)
IGN Games Podcasts
Legendary Thread (new WoW podcast by the folks at 1up)
NPR: Movies (weekly cast replaying NPR stories about the movies)
RetroGaming Radio (another Shane R. Monroe videogaming podcast...one of my favorites)
Star Trek Section 31
The 1up Show (GREAT video game videocast with the best theme song ever)
The Instance (best WoW podcast I've heard, by the XLR folks)
The Weekly Murloc (WoW podcast)
Treks In SciFi
World of Warcast (WoW podcasT)
WoW Chronicles (WoW podcast, one of the few cast I listen to with a female host...we need you Jen)
WoWcast
XBox Live's Major Nelson Radio (all about Xbox 360, the hosts voice really gets on my nerves tho)
I also listen while I drive - I consider myself lucky because I drive every day all day long - lots of time for listening.
Treks in Sci-Fi
Mysterious Universe
Astronomy Cast
Strange Days Indeed - one of my favorites! not enough updates
Destructomundo - the end of the world through the eyes of three geeky guys.
Geek survival guide - sort of the same thing as Destructomundo but very high class and very funny.
OverClocked - very iffy output but he was the first podcast that I ever listened to - so... he talks tech and philosophy LOL
SciFi Dig - Aaron is one of the best
2Irish geeks and a TV - These guys cheer me up - they are so funny but they both have Irish accents and some people that I have recommended them too have a hard time understanding them. They talk about gaming, movies, TV and just about anything Sci Fi.
Jack Mangans Deadpan - (author of Spherical Tomi)
and Podiobooks that catch my ear?
Say anyone recommend a good "Heroes" podcast?
Mr.O
There are two that I listen to that are pretty good. The 10th Wonders and The 9th

Hey Comix, seems we have pretty similar tastes. Strange days indeed is also one of my favourites but he hasn't put any podcasts out since show 420 but he is still broadcasting. Do you have any news mate?
The shows are on the website but they never seem to make it to the iTunes podcast directory. Awhile back he said that they were having trouble with the feed but I never have time to sit at the computer and listen so I don't know what is going on - I really miss it. http://www.virtuallystrange.net/ufo/sdi/program/
He is on the that network. ;-D We do like the same sort of podcasts!

You know this got me thinking, and this is not intended as a shamless plug, but there are few of us who do podcasts on divergent topics or that know people who do, but still manage regular updates.
So what if we had a "Network" type website? Something that would provide regular streaming audio of our shows, as well as links back to our pages for direct subscription. You go to the page and the "scheduled" podcast would be playing in the browser, with the ability to easily link it up for download to the ole' iPod, and of course the links to similar 'casts out there.
Just thinking out loud here as I am NOT a webnerd and really stopped trying to be when you didn't need to use NotePad to do a website anymore....
Mr. O
Mr. O, there are a few places out there doing that type of podcast network group right now. I think most folks just search for things in iTunes or Podcast Alley. Oh, I listened to your first Warcraft podcast too. Good job! Feel free to plug your show here anytime. You might want to create a nice little banner signature/link for it. I find those help a lot.
I am ASHAMED that no one mentioned Being James Bond. :bond
I am really enjoying this, if you like James Bond, you are really going to enjoy this podcast. Basically, the guy (Head of Section) covers basically any topics that cover actually living the Bond lifestyle. He also reviewed the recent Ultimate Collection DVDs.
Hey, any of you UK blokes, is the Ultimate Editions over in GBR any better than the USA versions??
BJ
Sorry about resurrecting an ancient thread, but I figured it was better than cluttering up the board with a new one covering the same topic.
First of all, let me say that I honestly believe that Rico's 'cast is the best sci-fi podcast around! Not only does he manage to put it out on a regular basis (an unfortunately rare occurrence in the podcasting world), he gives us a podcast that is very slickly produced. Rico always manages to include new content while also successfully putting a new shine on all of the shows and films that we know and love. Each time he reviews a show, I feel like the show is once again new to me; I often find myself trying to track down the episode or movie in question to watch again! Thank you Rico, for all that you do! :metallica:
With that being said, I was wondering what other podcasts y'all are listening to right now. I just found a Buffy Podcast called the Watcher Cast (http://www.watchercast.com/) which seems O.K. so far. The producers do a spoiler-rific review of the series on an episode by episode basis. I might give it a few more listens to see if it grows on me.
Anyone have any other suggestions on 'casts we can listen to while waiting for the latest TreksinSciFi?
Yeah, I know personally how difficult it is to get a podcast out. Angela and I probably get one up once every two- four months...though our schedule was intended to be monthly.
I've been enjoying Gaming Steve as of late. He's been gone for a year, but he's back now. If you like games, his is the absolute, hands down BEST video game podcast. Very knowledgeable and professional with many interviews and inside information on every platform.
Escape Pod is always good. It's chopped full of short, original Sci-fi fiction read by great narrators.
I also like to ease drop on other RPGs... One very popular Star Trek RPG has it's own podcast. I like listening for ideas and I get quite a bit of information regarding how to manage RPGs. Check it out when you get a chance, its called Starbase Phoenix.
Extarlife Radio and the other Extralife podcasts are a ton of fun. ELR is how I first heard about Rico and Treks in Sci Fi.
www.myextralife.com
If you like Firefly/Serenity there is The Signal or Firefly Talk.. both great podcasts. Harry Potter has Pottercast (they just landed an interview with JK Rowling herself, which was fantastic). Farscape has the Scapecast. Heroes has 10th Wonders... it really depends on what you like.

Of course if you're into tech and such there is always the old standby of the TWIT network (www.twit.tv). Tons of great podcasts with some big names in tech journalism.
Yeah it's a geek girl podcast. The first one totally bites...but most first episodes do. My favorite is the last one we did 9-28-07. I recommend that one. By the way, have any of you checked out FastKarateForTheGentleman (http://daveandjoel.com/)? It can get a little rough at times; definitely not a work-friendly podcast. But if you can stomach PG-13/R humor and language, and have a passing familiarity with Anime and Video games, it is worth checking out.

I listen to Make-it-So podcast. The one where we had a semi-informal-short-war with them. There is a thread about that here somewhere. Thanks to you guys though I started listening to them. ;)
I also listen to the Instance, WOWChron, Taverncast (which has changed formats), and Wowaddonspodcast for World of Warcraft.
I listen to CLF Grays Harbor, Attic of My Mind, and Treksf podcast ;) ;) ;) thanks to the forums.
For Star Wars I listen to Force-Cast and Imperial Holonet Radio
Geeks-on just for kicks.
And Extra-Life Radio and Pottercast.
Think I have no life now? lol lol lol

And for those curious, I'm now thinking of adding the ones that I did not list and you guys mentioned.

If you're into Star Wars collectibles at all, Star Wars Action News is a ton of fun. I don't collect much myself but I find Arnie, Marjorie and the rest of the contributors to the show hilarious!
If you like MMO gaming then the Wife Aggro podcast is a great general MMO news show. They get interviews with devs of upcoming MMOs more often then not.

I felt this thread needed a good resurrection. What are people listening to now? I just quit my subscription to my Wow Chron, (podcast has pretty much died as they haven't released anything since January and the forums are gone) Simple Tricks and Nonsense and others so I need more podcasts to listen to. Anomaly :)
Attic of my Mind :)
Christian Life Fellowship
ExtraLife Radio
The Force-cast
Imperial Holonet Radio
The Instance
Joel Osteen
Pottercast
Taverncast Sadly this podcast seems dead
Treks in Sci-Fi :) :)

- Not enough time in the day to listen to all I want to hear.
Here's a question: Rico, Jen, Kenny, Rick M and anyone else who puts out podcasts: Do you go back and listen to your own shows?
I did early on and still do scan through a bit once in awhile. When I first started I wanted to make sure the sound quality was ok - oh and that I didn't sound like a big, dumb geek (well at least I licked one of those - LOL). Now frankly, I don't listen really to my stuff at all.

Yes, I always listen every week to mine. Not to get a big head, but to improve and develop my speaking abilities. I also want to make sure that I am getting my general thought out clearly. I have others listen and critique it as well. Some day I plan on doing a science fiction comedy podcast. I think that would be fun. :)
Thanks King for adding my podcast to your list :) I dig Joel Osteen's too. I have started listening to the smallville podcast, the heroes and some others that are really good.
But nothing can beat Treks In Sci Fi, it's by far the best!
Oh, and I like the Ready Room podcast too! :)
I don't listen to the Ready Room podcast when Rico posts it... It normally takes me several days to edit them and by the end I'm just happy to send them to Rico to upload. :)
I listen to Anomaly for the same reasons that Rick does. I want to eventually eliminate the verbal fillers (umm, like, so anyway, etc). I do better with that when I don't feel like I have to say something really fast to get it in to the conversation.
I also laugh at our own episodes... sounds weird, but sometimes I forget some of our little jokes.
My favorite Jen are the outtakes that don't make the show.. now that is some funny stuff. I'm always laughing when I'm editing The Ready Room.
LOL, yes... as long as they don't make us sound stupid, I usually leave those in when I edit. :D

I do a little thing for The Instance called "Tip-Givers' Tip of the Week". I have them all queued up in itunes so I can go back and see which ones weren't so great, analyze why, and hopefully do better next time.
Hey, Darrell, I love the tip givers tip of the week. The end of the Instance used to constantly annoy the hell out of me because of the fact that very occasionally there would be something worth listening to mixed in with about 90% terrible submissions, so I felt compelled to listen even though most of it was garbage. Ever since you started doing the tip givers tip the general quality of peoples submissions to the instance seem to have improved dramatically. Plus you have a great sense of humor and make me laugh. Keep it up, and welcome to Treks in SF, hope you stick around this time!
Darrell - love your tips on "The Instance." Didn't know that was you. Very funny, and excellent advice.
Indeed. TGTotW is one of my favourite Instance segments. You're right up there with Patrick and MeanGene.
Obviously, there's a bit of crossover between this place and the EL forums!
A good current events talk radio show to try is hosted by Tom Sullivan at FOX News, New York.
Tom has a conservative show and is very even handed with the topics, unlike Rush or Lars Larson ect.
An interesting host, Tom Sullivan is from my neck of the woods - KFBK radio, Sacramento Ca. out here on the left coast.
He's a financial advisor for FOX news as well as an ex-California State Highway Patrol officer.
The first hour of his three hour show is available for download free from iTunes / tom sullivan radio

I've recently found For Your Ears Only which is a great podcast devoted to reviewing a James Bond film once a month.
I'm sure many of you know these, but I thought I'd share them for those that don't. These are all audio podscasts and they run about 30 minutes. You can find them on iTunes.
The first is "Old Time Radio Sci Fi" http://otrscifi.mevio.com/ (http://otrscifi.mevio.com/) If you like the old radio serials, this is where you'll find them. Lately they've been playing episodes of "Superman" and "Tom Corbet, Space Cadet". True, these shows were geared toward younger listeners, but still great fun. Lately, this podcast has become very commercialized, taking up almost 25% of it's play time with ads, so keep your finger on the fast-forward button.
The next is "Relic Radio Sci Fi" http://otr.relicradio.com/ (http://otr.relicradio.com/). This podcasts runs some of the great "episodic" shows that were on the radio - the fore-runners to "The Twilight Zone" and "The Outer Limits". Shows like "X Minus One" and "The Zero Hour" showcased some of the best writers of the time - and some of the worst, but this podcast is great fun to listen to.
The last isn't strictly Sci-fi, but it has produced some really good sci-fi episodes. I'm talking about "The Classic Tales" http://www.theclassictales.com (http://www.theclassictales.com). This excellent one man effort is really a series of audio books, celebrating some of the classic short stories that have come to us through the years. The producer tends more toward horror stories, but he's done great stories by HG Wells, HP Lovecraft, and others (I HIGHLY recommend "The Machine Stops", written almost a century before "The Matrix" yet eerily similar.) The episodes aren't archived, but he does offer past episodes on Audible.com. (But if you are interested in hearing some past episodes, I can "loan" you some!)
Thanks for letting me share!
Peace,
Allen
Those all sound interesting. Thanks for the heads-up. :)
I know I haven't been around here in awhile, but I thought (since this section is new since the last time I've been here) that I would give a list of my favorite podcasts. A few of them are of the geeky variety, but not all of them are sci-fi.
The NosillaCast Mac Podcast is one I've only recently started listening to, and I have to say, Allison Sheridan is a geek like us, PLUS she had an interview with Rod Roddenberry a couple months ago when the new Trek movie came out.
I also like The MuppetCast, I've been a listener since the beginning, and have really enjoyed watching the show evolve. Also, if the host, Steve Swanson, and I can get our ducks in a row, I will probably be on The MuppetCast for a guest segment very soon! Stay tuned, guys, because I'll probably plug it over here first.
Those are the main truly geeky ones I like.

Hi allen, I love short podcast myself. esp the ones that will last 30 mines or less. I have listen to the show x-minus-1. which I found on iTunes. I have also found a lot old radio shows from the iTunes store. It is good that some of the classic radio shows can be listen too this way. I have not listen to the In a while and I hope they are still there.

I listen to far too many podcasts. I think I'm subscribed to over 50. There are those that I have to listen to as soon as new ones are released (at least within the week), and then those that I let sit and gather. I've been trying to purge podcasts that I don't really enjoy, and catch up on ones that I love but have fallen by the wayside (EscapePod, for example). When I got my iPod Touch this past summer (I had until then been using a 160gb 3g classic), and discovered the 2X feature... it's a lifesaver. I've been keeping track, and in August I had 425 unheard episodes. As of my last sync, I was down to 256. I want to get to a place where I can keep up with new releases and not let anything back up by June. We'll see. ;)
Looks like bevs_plaything will be getting a shout out and redshirt97 I'd give Waffle On a go, the host seems a nice enough bloke and the other one's not bad either.

Yes I have heard of that show mention. I think I will need to download that again and listen, that is I I listen to it the first time.
Don't know if that's wise. Might drive you insane, lol. It was a crazy episode. That's when all the Fox Leader awareness stuff started after that.
I've cut a lot of podcasts out this year, mostly due to enjoyment factor not being so great or the information is irrelevant to my interests.
My newest one I added was Slice of SciFi, such a hilarious show.
13 podcasts. That's down from about mid 20s from last year.

I think I shall have to listen to Slice 211 again at the weekend, please don't condemn me for it as this show is addictive. I think it's probably easier for Charlie Sheen to give up hookers and drugs than it is to stop to listening to show 211!!

I find knowing what podcast hosts look like help me relate better. When I listen to KoTG, I can picture you and Jenni in front of your mics!
I listen to podcasts at work and have a substantial subscriptions list. I am always looking for variety to my daily podcast listening. I love sci-fi, but can't listen to a full day of sci-fi geeky fanboy chat. I make a playlist everyday for my podcasts and ensure I have at least 11 hours worth of stuff on there. I jumble my comedy with my serious. I alternate with a long podcast to a couple of short and then back to long. I spread my absolute favorite ones over the whole day. Periodically I have a cull in which I get rid of ones I've grown weary of and find new ones. Often I will go back to these a few months down the line.....like I say, variety!
Some of the better ones I've found which are, in my eyes, fairly unique are-
The Moth Podcast- This is a 15-20 minute long weekly(ish) podcast of true stories told before a live audience without notes. Some are good.....some are brilliant! You get funny stories. Moving stories....stories with a moral.....life experience stories etc...
Movies For The Blind- This is a podcast put together by a Canadian lady called Val. She gets the audio from old public domain movies and adds a descriptive audio track to it to make an audiomovie suitable for blind or visually impaired listeners....it is also very good if, like me, you drive machinary for a living. Obviously, most of the movies are old time ones for them to be public domain and the movie genres are hit and miss dependant on your personal tastes. But there are some great horror and sci-fi movies along with romance or musicals or comedies. The back catologue is well worth looking through. She has even done the original movie to I Am Legend, The Last man On Earth starring Vincent Price.
The Onion- A daily podcast of fake news stories that rarely exceed 1min 30 seconds per episode. I love starting everyday with an Onion story
Dan Carlins Hardcore History- If anyone had told me a couple of years ago that I'd be listening to a history podcast by choice, I'd have laughed in their faces.....well I am. Dan makes history interesting.....I won't say fun. Some of the topics covered are frighteningly gruesome. But they are true events and I feel it is inportant to let people know how bad times were......I highly recommend this one!
Stuff You Should Know- Another interesting podcast in which the hosts talk about stuff.....sometimes it may be science related. Other times not. Most episodes are around 30 minutes long though the real early ones are only about 5 minutes. I have just downloaded some of the back catalogue. As an example of the variety of what talk about, these include episodes about Octopus, Hypnosis, Japanese Internment Camps and Biospeleology....whatever that is. They are always interesting!!
TV Cream Podcast- Hard to describe this. It is a very British, scripted comedy show that wouldn't sound amiss on our BBC Radio 4 station. They have just done 4 episodes on the top 50 moments from UK soap opera, Coronation Street to celebrate the shows 50th birthday (I think). They did a couple of election specials about the time in which they looked back documentary style at gaffs and comedy moments from previous elections. There has been shows about christmas TV and Summer Tv in the UK. All are accompanied by many sound bites from TV of the 60's 70's and 80's. I love this show, but unfortunately, they come out infrequently. I'm confident that Meds would love it. Others would just have to give it a go!
Max Buffers Media Museum- This is another in a similar comedy style to the above. Max Buffer and Terry Bland are the two fictional hosts. They are media veterans who ahave worked in the British TV and film industry for years and, using this podcast, they are passing on their knowledge of the media world. It really should be listened to appreciate the tone. Again, these are frustratingly infrequent!!
Scott Sigler- He has a weekly show, but you will need to catch up with his stories before leaping into these. Scott is a sci-fi horror movie writer often described as a cross between Stephen King and Crichten....and I have to agree. His stories are genious and it is aonly a matter of time before we get a TV show or movie set in the "Siglerverse"! His full audiobooks can be downloaded for free in full hosted by Podiobooks (also on iTunes etc...) Once you have caught up with his back log of books, I'm confident you will subscribe to the current story and his weekly podcast. The guy is awesome. If you like either Crichton or King, I guarantee you'll love this. Gruesome horrific violence with many sci-fi elements....elements which are frighteningly plausible!!
Most of the others I subscribe to are political or TV show/movie specific or general geek chat or fanmade audiodrama's etc...
Oh Dan Carlins Hardcore History is awesome. I get excited when i see a new epsode comes available.
After much consideration, I'm going to have to cut back on a lot of the podcasts that I listen to. there is just less and less time in the day for me to hear everything. I'm going to try to cut back to less than 12 hours a week. That should cover commute time, lunch, and some cleaning, but I swear that every day, someone I know, or a friend of a friend is starting a new Podcast and you try to support them by listening, but then you miss something and suddenly you have a weeks worth of casts that you're trying to get caught up on.
I figure that I can go two shows from each of the subjects that I like and a few eclectic ones here and there.

A few other podcasts i like, beyond the ones our friends on here make are;
Trek TV two Canadians living it Australia are watching Trek in broadcast order, all trek so its going to take them a while lol, but they are funny and have a love of the Genre. A Word of warning though its not for kids if you take my meaning.
Sci fi Diner podcast for a bi weekly round up of all the news of sci fi and interviews and comments, two great hosts one of whom is a trekkie but both are great genuine guys.
finally i would recommend books you should read, it delves into many different books and talks openly about if they are a good or bad read with listener comments and feedbacks.
I could list more but i won't apart from take him with you and just because. :roflmao
stonut, don't forget Waffle On, Knights Of The Guild, Tales From The Mouse House, FastForward, M*A*S*H 4077th podcast, Highway to Mars, and get caught up on The Martians Are Here!! :)

Dan Carlin's Hardcore History
The Definitive Word
MacCast
Make It So (when they where on)
Paddy's TV Surprise
RetroMacCast
SciFi Surplus
Starbase 66
TREKS in SCI-FI
Waffle On Podcast
Mac i listen to Trek Tv and Trekcast as well, well when Trekcast makes an episode. I did listen to Gamma Quadrant but i found it cheesy so stopped listening. oh and Dave i listen to BAbylon to so when can share the hate lol.
I have an extensive list of podcasts that I listen to.
The Black Dog Podcast is one that has really grown on me of late and become essential listening. Not for play in front little ones or anybody who doesn't like the use of profanity. They start with a news round up for movies and TV shows and general geeky topics.
They then go on to some of their sections. Sometimes, you get "Sh****y Heroes" which has co-host Lee introducing Co-host Darren to a genuine, but dreadful superhero/villian from the comicbook world. They have a section called Mel Smith moments. This is basically a story from listeners about encounters with celebrities that didn't quite go to plan. The first one was about Mel Smith which is where the title comes from.
They then end on a movie review in what is either a "Rose Coloured Specs", "Sh** covered Goggles" or a "Thunderdome" episode. Rose coloured specs being a classic film that is fondly remembered. They revisit the movie in question to see if it has stood the passage of time. Sh** covered goggles is a look at an awful movie to see if it is as bad as ypu think. Thunderdome is a fairly recent addition to the shows. This is where Lee and Darren disagree about a movie. They debate the film and then read/play all listener feedback keeping a tally of those for or against. They than determine if the movie is a classic or just sh**.
I have recently started to listen to Trek Off which is heavily influenced by Make It So. Again, not for kids or sensitive ears!! The host, Justin is a movie maker who has now got 2 low budget comedy/horror movies playing on Netflix. Ninja's Vs Zombies and Ninja's Vs Vampires. So far, I'm quite enjoying it. Although, the tangents last longer than the Trek talk. I think episode 1 was about 90% Harry Potter :)

Mac i listen to Trek Tv and Trekcast as well, well when Trekcast makes an episode. I did listen to Gamma Quadrant but i found it cheesy so stopped listening. oh and Dave i listen to BAbylon to so when can share the hate lol.
I recommend the live Babyon Podcast Ustream feed on Wednsdays. Sometimes the best stuff gets edited out due to time.
David, Darren, Alicia, and Jarad at Trekcast are awesome, but I think they all got jobs again.
The Create Our Own Adventure segments where the best.
Been awhile sice my first post on this subject. Besides what I posted initially I've been enjoying treknologic, the ready room, trekmate, trektv, the delta quadrant and trekoff. I'm sure not all of Therese appeal to all tastes, but I can get enough trek. Treks in scifi is still my first stop of course!
P.s. geek fights too!
I've added one podcast to my very short list of shows:
"Ladies of Leet" They're HUGE gamers. It's great to hear about the different games out there...which ones to avoid, which to play all from the ladies' persepctive. I love this show. They also remind me a little of us, LOL.
Don't listen to Ladies of Leet myself but I do enjoy Nicole Spag on The Final Score. It's one I keep meaning to add to my list.
Sweet, after Ricos podcast today, Make it So has released a long lost show!
A commentary of TNG ep 'Night Terrors' (explicit tag applies so hide the kids)

I have now dropped the Forcecast after Jason and Jimmy have left. They now produce the RebelForce Radio podcast...It's basically the same show as the Forcecast, but with Jimmy and Jason totally running the show.
I did try the new Forcecast hosts though. But it was like watching the 6 O'clock BBC News and then turning over and watching all the same stories on the 6:30 Central News

I am going to give the new ForceCast hosts a chance, I can never get enough STAR WARS chat, even in it is redundant.

I listened to the recent episode of the ForceCast, they do a good job, but it just isn't the same as the old show. Change is sometimes good, but I do miss Jimmy. On a side note, I feel WAY older than the new hosts. Uh...I don't like feeling old. :D
Hm I thought I posted my list before but apparently not...

I got the impression Jimmy and Jason had really grown beyond their relationship with the Force.net and wanted 100% autonomy over their content.

It sounded like either they had to vet a lot of things through the Force.net or the topics would be given to them to cover. I suspect also given the ties Rebelscum has with Lucasfilm and alot of the licensee might have limited a certain amount of freedom on how to cover things from time to time. Though it does still seem like Jason and Jimmy are in tight with some of the Lucasfilm folks still, so not sure how hand tied they would have been anyways.
I find myself besides listening to podcast, watching a lot of Youtube Channels on my Lunch hour. I like Model building ones, so have been watching Trekworks and Steve Neill channels very regularly.

I actually have the impression they are far better connected to LucasFilm then Rebelscom or the Force.net. They developed amazing relationships with the Clone Wars production staff and actors as well as many other within LucasFilm.

Give Trekworks a go as well, Boyd there builds some beautiful models. Interesting to watch how the two approach their builds. I have picked up a ton of tips from both of them, some things I would have never figured out on my own.
Yeah, i am very familiar with his work, will do!
I know its daft but i still get excited when i read some one list Waffle On as one of their chosen podcasts. :D

Same here for UMBCast. People actually listen?!
Yeah, we got a review from someone I've never heard of and was like "How the hell did they find out about this??"
