Here's Pixar/Disney's next summer blockbuster..
-Synopsis: Since ancient times, stories of epic battles and mystical legends have been passed through the generations across the rugged and mysterious Highlands of Scotland. In “Brave,” a new tale joins the lore when the courageous Merida (voice of Kelly Macdonald) confronts tradition, destiny and the fiercest of beasts. Merida is a skilled archer and impetuous daughter of King Fergus (voice of Billy Connolly) and Queen Elinor (voice of Emma Thompson).
Determined to carve her own path in life, Merida defies an age-old custom sacred to the uproarious lords of the land: massive Lord MacGuffin (voice of Kevin McKidd), surly Lord Macintosh (voice of Craig Ferguson) and cantankerous Lord Dingwall (voice of Robbie Coltrane). Merida’s actions inadvertently unleash chaos and fury in the kingdom, and when she turns to an eccentric old Wise Woman (voice of Julie Walters) for help, she is granted an ill-fated wish. The ensuing peril forces Merida to discover the meaning of true bravery in order to undo a beastly curse before it’s too late.

Just watching the trailer gives me a very "Mulan in Scotland" vibe. But the synopsis calms my fears. I mean, it's Pixar, so I'd be in anyway, but I just don't want them to lose their magic.

Here's a scene from the movie.

We saw a lot of scenes from this movie during the D23 Expo last August. One word: AWESOME! This movie is going to rock the box office...

Saw some poster boards for this one this weekend (when we went to see the Stooges film). Looks funny - I hope they don't break the Pixar streak of successes.

There was a trailer for Brave before The Avengers. Looks good so far! *crossing fingers*
I particularly like the girl's attitude. I think my "disney princesses aren't self-sufficient enough" daughter will appreciate it, too.

Just saw this with the family. We watched the 3D version, which was well done. I enjoyed this film, but I would say it is my least favorite of the Pixar franchise. There were some fine moments, but the laughs didn't come as quickly in this one.
The Hobbit trailer was shown in the previews.

Saw this with the family last Saturday. All had a blast. Movie was well done, not exceptional, not the best Pixar movie ever, but well done.
However...
(click to show/hide)
It didn't give me so much of the "Mulan in Scotland" vibe as "Brother Bear in Scotland.
Still a great time with the family!

The wife and I saw this on Thursday and we both enjoyed it but they forgot to turn on the air conditioning! It got a little warm. Still the movie looked great, and even though It shouldn't I still am amazed at how real these animated movies look. Of course I'm talking about scenery and such. Besides Merida my favorite character was the King. Well done by Pixar and Disney. I give this a 7.
