 >:(  Hi  all to the forum.   a few days ago we had no internet service to our home.  we could not understand why.  well we call our ISP to find out and get some one to look into the problem.  it took a day or two for a service tech to come out to the house.   when he did he found the telephone line cut in two form one end to the other.  well needless to say the  line had to be replaced.  the phone company was able to do so that day and we had internet back by that evening which was great.  we live along a dirt road with only  few people living there.  we think that thieves stole the copper wire to sell on the black market for drug money.  this is the first time it has happen to us.   has this ever happen to any of you?

I know wire theft from construction sites is quite common. I guess out in more remote areas it would be just as tempting. If anyone wanted to cut my phone cable they'd have to climb a pole that sits in the midst of 4 fairly small back yards, I think we might notice :)

Yeah, I have been reading about a number of thefts like that.  It is only going to get worse I fear.

it is good that you live in a place where thieves would get caught.   we really do not have too many problems around where we live but I do suspect that a neighbor down the road may have something to do with this.
