Mothball Fleet

This is an example of the mothball fleet that thousands of commuters see everyday from the freeways heading to the San Francisco bay area.

It's amazing to see hundreds of warships anchored in tight groups. Even more so is the story this blog tells of sneaking out at night in a small raft and taking photos of all the old boats before they are gone forever.

Wow, that is great!  there used to be a mothball fleet in Philadelphia when I was younger.  The Navy Yard closed (back in 80's I think) and I believe they were all sold for scrap.

looks like a wonderful place to explore. i've always been curious about what's inside abandoned structures.

Definitely haunted...
And once aboard the first order of business was to make camp in the Captains quarters.
Like Kirk or Picard's - they are the best on the ship.
