It's why I usually have perpetual face palm when I read stuff on message boards sometimes discussing Apple and their business, current company not included...well a few of you. :)

I'm still far more interested in the new iOS5 features than I am by the new hardware (although if the new features are too sluggish on existing hardware, the new kit will then become a whole lot more tempting :))

I know I've mentioned it all before and thinking of getting an iPhone. I was looking at this all and thinking why not get an iPhone 4 instead of the iPhone 4s. I mean it's much cheaper. My curiosity is how good really is the video and still camera on the 4? And you guys with the 4 will have to let me know how iOS5 works with it, cause really it won't be long before I have an iPhone. A few months at the most I'll be joining your iPhone owners gang.

The 4S has an impressive camera, but just take a look at Instagram posts you've probably seen and a few of Rick and I's videos.  That's the quality you can expect out of a iPhone 4 and it's great.  :).  My biggest issue with the 4's camera is no optical zoom (and digital zoom is....not great) but the 4S does not have optical zoom either so the only way to get it is to spend some money to get lenses that fit on the phone, which aren't cheap. 

Still, for point and shooting, it's worked fine for me.  Will OFC post thoughts on iOS5 when it comes tomorrow.

Face the facts digital zoom always sucks. My photography teacher had a big gripe about it. It was the kind of gripe that you remember.

I figure if I get an iPhone I'd want to use it for Video and Photos a lot on the go. I don't need the newest stuff. I just need something that does the job. But my boss's older iPhone camera really sucks so I didn't want to end of with something like that. I'd be happy with it being pretty good and I need to get a new video and new still cameras too anyway, but for on the go. But I'd like to know what I'm in for with lets face it old technology now.

Stuff like this happens at every launch, if there was a bad production run then Apple will just do a no questions asked exchange at any store. Since they aren't using a new screen (still the same retina display) I don't imagine this will be a widespread problem.

I will have my first iPhone on Monday!!! I like to support my local Radio Shack and they are having a black 16GB iPhone 4S brought in from another store for me. Can't wait to finally join the smartphone world!!!!
