I feel a bit of the same way as you Tim.  The movie had some great action and visuals but the story did feel a little weak to me.  But, I have to say I enjoyed it overall and it was interesting to see Henry Cavill (the next Superman) in this movie now.
Basically the gods weren't suppose to get involved because Zeus wanted humans to find their own way and solve their own struggles.

I get that, but its still a plot hole, especially since I would think the Gods wouldn't want to die via the Titans being released.  But oh well.
I saw the movie yesterday afternoon, and whilst it was very 'action pacted' it seems to have been missing something.  We have a saying over here which sums up this movie...in my opinion!  The saying is "fur coat, no knickers!!"

I saw this last week and really enjoy it.. it's not going to win an Oscar for it's story but it was a fun action packed, visually stunning popcorn movie.. exactly what I was expecting.
